As I'm sure many of you have noticed, we're are currently being targeted by spammers of the nastiest kind. Apologies for the mess, but the moderators are on it and spending a lot of time cleaning it up. To put it in perspective, we can see well over a hundred new spam posts on a bad day, but thanks to mods around the globe, there's usually someone online to take care of it immediately if not sooner. I just wanted to give a shout out to the members working incredibly hard to stay on top of it. A huge thank you goes out to Technophobe, Penham, Hachi and Jen147. Your help is much appreciated. If I missed anyone, I apologize - with so much spam, it's difficult to know who's taking them down sometimes.

Rest assured it's not our first rodeo, and we will beat them because we always do. Normal service will resume shortly...

We love you back, Carbon.

My thanks to my fellow moderators too. Especially JD who can't thank himself - despite deserving it!

Thank you, guys. I know we have our differences, but we're all family when it comes down to it. We don't appreciate it when someone shows up on our block and disrespects us. And we take spam very personally around here

You are doing a great job in removing spam. It did appear to me that the forum has recently been targeted, and I felt sorry for all the extra work that you have in clearing thing up

THANK you all you moderators.

Thanks, arirish. We're deleting them as soon as we see them. Hopefully they'll get tired of wasting their time soon and bother someone else.

Is this why I couldn't connect to the site yesterday? I tried all day but no joy. Anyway, well done moderators.

I had the same problem. Not sure what caused it, KiwiMum.

I could not get on this morning. I messaged Albert on facebook and he said the server company were doing some spontaneous* work. So I don't think it was as a direct product of the spam.

Whatever the reason, all is fine now.

*He was as delighted as the rest of us at their kind decision to warn everyone in advance. - How very thoughtful of them!
