My daughter has been sick off and on for the past month, first with strept throat (tested postive) 4 weeks ago, then last week an ear infection and throat infection, so two rounds of antibiotics. But, she has still been sick, even after all the meds, low grade fever, tiredness, cough  yesterday my husband took her in to the doctor and they prescribed Tamiflu, even though she tested negative for the flu, strept, mono. The doctor said they are seeing alot of patients that they think have the type A flu that are testing negative for the flu. They are prescribing Tamiflu for them and it is helping with their sickness.

That's very interesting.  One huge problem is that resp. bacterial infections are becoming resistant to the normal antibiotics.  This is something that we've all heard about for years, but it really seems to be having an impact.  I've seen some people go back to the doctor 3 or 4 times this year for different types of antibiotics, until it finally had an effect.

Remember, physicians will first prescribe regular antibiotics that have been around for awhile to preserve the newer ones and to prevent further resistance, which is probably a good idea.
