Mississippi Mama I am so sorry. I lost my first son at birth and thought that was the worst. Than I lost another going on 4 years ago (he was 36) and it was much worst. I know the pain lessens with time but will never go away. MY thoughts are with you.

Jody05 from one mother to another. I am so sorry for the lost of your beloved son. I keep saying to myself when I feel really down that I am stronger than I think and wiser than I know and the pain and grief that resurface will pass. Then I try to think of all the good times we had and boy did we have good times. Often I feel like he watching to see what I'm going to do with my self. So I really do try hard to keep it together. Lots of hug to all of you from one mom to another

Mississippi Mama be sure that your son IS watching. I know. Mine came to me one night several months after he passed. I was NOT asleep. I heard his voice say mom and saw a shadow. It was surely an act of love. I think because I was so shook that it hasnt happened again. I am sure you WILL keep it together as you sound like a strong women.

When one of the pets die I ask my son to help them find their way. Fortunately in Peds we do not lose vey many kids. When that happens I usually ask my Dad to take them,he was always so great with the kids,I'm sure he gets them home.Gotta stop I always start to cry again. TIme to go hold a newborn and laugh again

Jody05 and Dr. d I know you will understand this one. I lost my son 2 weeks before Katrina hit. I had to travel to Chicago to do funeral arrangements and ect. We got back to Ms. Thur. night not realizing a major hurricane was heading our way until we watched the weather channel Fri. morn. We unpacked the van re packed and evacuated Sun. Morn. When we made it to my aunt's house 6 hours away I plopped down in the chair and said Anutee I'm so tired. At the moment I heard my son say Mom don't worry about your house I've got you covered. Katrina hit Mon. morning. We were on pins and needles wondering what had happen to our home. Finally on the 4th day a friend was able to call and the 1st thing she said was Your house is still standing! I don't understand it, you must have had an angel looking out for you. You lost 84 large pine trees they all fell around the house but not one hit your house. We had no damage to the house. I went outside and looked up at the sky and said thank Roger with a big smile.

I had Charlie,Frances and Jeanne in my backyard. I asked for help too. I did not receive such a precise response. We lost 21 trees around the house they all missed the house too, and we were out of power for eight days. No water since we have a well. I just finished replacing the last of the trees in May. Now with Bill sitting out there... oh hell who knows. I've got the well pump set up tp a back up system now and lots of the power on board (to jump start your cars) set ups. You can put a car dc fan in the port or an inverter to run a 5" TV. We did that for six weeks. No cable with three hurricanes in six weeks. By Jeanne we were numb no one went to the store for supplies. There was no point. Walmart was still closed no supplies had come in. You had what you had.....Hotter then hell we worked in the early AM swatted mosquitos, filled the toilets out of the creek. Went fishing out in the back yard after Frances.
I had put up 100 gall of gas and put Stabil in it so we had gas. No one had a generator and I did not want to use it with just me and the kids here.Oh by the way this is Dr d. I am using my daughter's computer. Forgot to change the sign in,sorry for any confusion

Dr.d going thur Katrina was bad enough. I had never been in a hurricane before. We moved here from Chicago, 10 years ago. It was so stressful and very exhausting to just do the everydays chores. I can really understand being numb. I hope Bill somehow passes everybody by.

I have never heard of the rainbow bridge. I really like the thought of just knowing that. Thank you so much. It brought a smile to my face. I will share it with my husband. He is taking this very hard. We buried her last night about 8 p.m on our property. He didn't come in the house until 6 this morning. I appreciate all of the kind words from all of you, it really does help. I know your dog will be happy to get those extra hugs. What happen to the names next to the post. Mississippi Mama

Years ago, the day I put my eight year old great dane down, my work-out partner( who is very religious) told me that dogs have no souls.I immediately told her about the rainbow bridge and that I felt animals have more soul then most peole. When I let my dogs in this am I felt the most pure, honest, unconditional love. I will never recieve that from a person.Peope are too judgemental.

My thoughts go out to all the Moms and Dads that have lost little ones. I can't for one minute imagine the pain you must have gone through (and I'm sure, are still dealing with). Hugs to all of you.
Albert - nice to have you back. |

Again Albert Welcome Home! Our 45 days are now down to 10 DAYS! I hope we can organize and get'er done.
First let us make sure we all have prepped as much as we can. Second make sure we can help people who come here and do not know what to do. Third make sure we are all watching to see how quickly and how deadly this H1N1 hits so we can ACT quickly, responsibly and save as many as we can if necessary. In those famous words, "Let's Roll!" |

dr.d I have not posted yet but will name it "CDC Conference" in the General Discussion. Life is getting in the way of my posting...school is just starting and I am now a busy single parent getting all the stuff together. Life is different without my husband and my child's father.
I will post tomorrow 8/24. |
