Many people when faced with catastrophic accidents want to die in the weeks following. Often a simple single case may set a precedent for a chilling medical practice which people were jailed for before on a few years ago.  This is such a case.

The last place to make a life changing decision is on a respirator which is probably similar to one of the lower levels of hell or the equivalent. There are units in place which can allow a quadriplegic  to surf the Internet. This is a news article that made it to front page and now sets the stage for some truly scary things lurking in Obamacare.

Some people who are asked in the hospital if they want life support removed might change their minds after a few days. In this case, Caplan said, Bowers' hospital decision matched his prior discussions about living in a wheelchair.

Dr. Death - Dr. Jack Kevorkian was a pioneer in the field of euthanasia. There were several court rulings which said that people did not have the right to end their lives by medically assisted suicide.

In 1997, however, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Americans who want to kill themselves -- but are physically unable to do so -- have no Constitutional right to end their lives.

This is a video of a person with a petition for Mandatory Euthanasia of old people.

Obama supports euthanasia.

This is not an effort to be compassionate to the terminally ill who wish to die.  It is another media push to prepare people for what is coming for a health care system which will be a nightmare for elderly veterans and retired Americans.

Despite the abysmal rating for the Republicans to try and stop the implementation  of it, it is off to a gruesome beginning, and there is likely to be little effective medical care in the near future.

As movies often mirror life,  the movie Soylent Green depicts centers for euthanasia.

The following link includes a f-word but it is interesting reading.  The pie - graph where those who have existing care plans that will not be effected is now inaccurate with a statement this is not so by the president.

Once again we approach the sentiment of Ebenezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol -

The two charitable men comment that many would rather die than go to a government funded workhouse. To which Scrooge responds: "If they'd rather die then perhaps they had better do so and decrease the surplus population" and angrily dismisses them.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ebenezer_Scrooge

America has a massive disabled population.  Even more so because of the baby-boomers and the graying of America - that are "taken care of" by social security and the health care system.

Dr. Christine Kistler did something interesting, get used to it if ObamaCare gets fully enacted, she used language to codify what she really meant, consider it an Orwellian way to say if you are at a certain age and your life expectancy is less than five years left, we will rule you don’t get a colonoscopy even if you have symptoms that warrant it, because we (The Government) or (The Death Panel) deem it too expensive, deem the expense not worth the reward, because government bean counters or statisticians only calculate you will live less than five years.

But we can bet that Doctor Christine Kistler will pay for her own colonoscopies and biopsies despite her age and other illnesses. You can bet that Bill Gates will spend millions to extend his life as far as he can. But to the middle class schmucks that can’t afford to pay for screenings on their own, who will have to rely on ObamaCare to pay for these tests, sorry, the government actuary says no, the computer says you have less than five years to live, despite that Uncle who lived to 100.

Yet as budgets and more for health care will soon be hit hard, do not look for pain drugs in terminal illness patients. The current trend is to wean and stop people on these meds and live their last days in pain as well as little treatment.

There will be wars in the Congress and Senate as we approach the Christmas season but the money is simply not there to support things.

The Right to Death. Once it was called suicide and it appears Dr. Death never lived to see his dream come true. But now it has.

Euthanasia will come to the forefront as seniors over the age of 75 are denied cancer treatments.  What are they to do?  Suffer?

Elver,as a Physician,I can not and I will not accept that. Plus the age cut  will not be 75,it will be 65 years old or less. But if they are going to do this, they need to train special teams that come into hospitals and kill people. It is wrong to make a Dr. do this, because the patient has to always believe that their doctor is their to help them,The patients can not lay their and wonder if you just given orders for medications  that may help them or kill them. If that trust is broken, there will not be a medical profession.Johnray1

Unless you have money...you will get treatment. That is why there are so many wealthy Democrats, they know they can buy medical care. So if the middle/lower classes can't get great medical care like we have been no big worry for the wealthy.

WOW!  You've made way too many assumptions.  Euthanasia should only be done by the patients request and nothing more!  I've I were in great pain as many are in their final stages of life then I would want someone, anyone, to inject me with a fatal dose while I slept.  And doctor's kill many people by prescribing conflicting medicines or telling someone such as my 91 year old mother in law to get off all her heart med's without even a follow up the next morning, but by then she was already back in the hospital.  No one should be denied cancer treatments unless it is stage 4 and totally incurable.  However, Obimination care will likely do just that.
