Through all of this I find I have wandered far from the person I really am inside. I am not a person of violence and violence is not the answer.

There will always be violent people. People who like in the time of King David in the  Bible wandered the wall partying late into the night, stealing from each other, killing each other, drinking and laying traps and stalking the innocent.

For those who choose to live in the big cities and be part of a culture that uses drugs, have few morals, has sex with many people and have no deep moral values or commitments - no thanks. That is your choice, but does not have to be mine.

I am tired of haters from both sides. People hating Christians, Christians hating Muslims, Gays hating straights, straights hating gays - when in a land of freedom -  as with God himself who does not force anyone to believe in him or do anything - we need to learn to live together and be tolerant of all beliefs, cultures, and make it somehow work.

I took a break tonight and just relaxed, meditated and tried to see and experience and understand. This is  the time to do so - you cannot change some things. What will happen will happen. We can make ourselves ready to perhaps leave the city - live in nature - try to survive.  Perhaps we will have to fight - perhaps not - perhaps many will be forgotten  and go on while those in the cities perish - and some of us will stay and try to help.

Violence is not the answer.  There are some who simply watch as the armies march in and out of their countries and still farm and live their lives, they must exist and cannot afford to leave.

So - there is some purpose to all of it - some great mystery - and when very young - I began my secret journey - and still beyond it all - still strive to be - to finally become  - a holy man.

Apologies for telling you after the fact, Med - this has been moved to off-topic because I don't believe it's relevant to the General Discussion area. To be honest, I'm not even sure of it's relevance on AFT. Seems more like a Facebook post to be honest. Thanks for sharing, but with all the recent discussions about distracting posts, it seems a little out of place. Remember that what we write is read by a wider audience who might be visiting for the first time and don't necessarily know us, or care much about our internal struggles. They're looking for pandemic info, so let's not scare them off.

I think we all need to remember why Albert created AFT. It's to educate, inform and empower preppers like ourselves. We're just guests in his house, after all.
We often go off topic between outbreaks, but when was the last time any of us posted anything new about food storage, water, medical supplies, etc? Arirish's outbreak tracking, and Penham's monthly updates are probably all we can genuinely class as prepping info these days.
Just saying...

Thanks JD! We all need to stop and reflect on why we first ended up here! I was searching for a reason for my mother's death in '09! I new a little about flu but since coming here I know a ton more! I've said it before, this happens every summer, it's just a little more intense this year because of the political climate! Keep up the good work and be safe!

Psychological preparation for a Pandemic, nuclear attack, or any serious condition which threatens our survival, is equally important as the physical part of storing food, making a shelter, or the rest of it. If your head is not together, and you freak out, you are dead.

It was my intent to reinforce the idea that with all the negativity and attacks and the fact there isn't a lot that can be done about North Korea, we need to prepare mentally as well as physically.

One bottom line in this is the fact we have billions of people who are not Christians and never will be who make up the majority of humans on the planet and we have to learn to live together. You can stock up your food cellar, arm yourself, and try to fight off all comers, but in my book Pandemic Now, we need to figure out how to work together as survivors no matter what religions or governments exist. The governments and countries may be destroyed, but the religions, what will keep people alive, God and whatever form of God they believe in - is very important.

We have all faced terrible tragedies in our life and had to go on. I have lost both parents, all but 2 aunts and uncles, and even younger people to the Flu, to violence, to starvation - yes people died in the street and found dead from the cold and no food.

We need to find answers and I can tell you with no doubt neither the media or any government is going to give them to us.

AFT was started, and I have known Albert almost from the beginning, to inform people and help them prepare when Avian Flu finally swept the world in a Pandemic. It seems rather simple really.

The other diseases came and over almost a decade we have posted and shared our common goal.

Sometimes I am very sad because I know that even armed, many people who have told neighbors will be shot and everything they have stored either used to feed people or armies invading our countries.

The Secret Journey - such as Christians who perished in the Coliseum which I have been to in Rome and is very creepy now -  is about survival as many people are killed by natural or human caused disasters.

What good is a shelter if you emerge from it insane and attack people and get shot?

You are going to face the reaper - perhaps bodies as far as you can see and deal with it. Minds can snap and some of us who may seem a little crazy may be a lot more pliable and able to deal with things than people who act all hard, ignore the reality, and then just flip out.

AFT is a family to me and you all have family as well. Even if we survive a Pandemic, or Nuclear War, we have to be strong - for our family and our children - and teach them the best way to live.

There will still be people helping others, even giving their lives in the desolation. Many will think this is dumb and see no reason for it.

I would be one of those people. Dr. John Ray would be. We had planned to head for Charleston and try and work together during a Pandemic if the main hospital wasn't in chaos
with hefty doses of Potassium Iodide

at least try to make a difference.

Even animals often protect there own - or try to help them survive. If we have not managed to be as humane as beasts of the field and in the sea - we truly don't deserve to survive.
