Hi everyone! Where do you live? Is your government warning its citizens about a possible pandemic? Is your community doing anything? Are you prepping? What about your friends and family? Do you feel like the only one who recognizes the threat of AF?

CANADA TORONTO The newspapers have a article about the pandemic once a month , third page of the paper. The goverment has a
it major plan written , it kind of scarey as it comes close to being martial law with the right to force people to work and seisure of property. It one of the tightest strictist plans .
The hosipitals have plans in order because of sars. MY friend is a nurse and they have a plan to lock the staff in case of a pandemic. This is under reveiw now because the doctors are not happy with the plan.
SARS changed alot of rules and set the ground work for the panedemic planning..The masks and extra sheildsover the face became essential and two gowns over regualar uniforms. Itwas pretty stupid but they realized too late that when the patient was wearing a oxegen mask they were still spraying droplets. That why the doctors and nurses caught the virus. They thought they were safe if the patient had a oxegin mask on them. first.
When sars hit the hosipital stopped all visitors from outside the hosiptial grounds except for ICU patients and everyone going in had to have a temperture check and sign a form that said they did not have a cough or fever .
he Toronto Distress Center is actively working on its plan and deciding itS role in the event of a pandemic. They currenty work with emergency services already IN other situations..
There is no neighbourhood planning and on average the Candaian seem to me to be not very knowlegeble about the virus on the whole.
No one else I know is prepping so I am closed mouth about my prepping . I have stopped warning people to prep because I sound like a idiot. If the newspappers dont support you , you cant warn people.
Which is sad because I have been prepping since January and am no where done. I dont see how anyone can do it in a week. Without lots of cash.

I don't think you can do it with a lot of cash in a week. There is just to much to do and to many item that you can't find the first time you go to the store. You end up going back for the same thing sometimes 2 and 3 times. Prepping is very time consuming. I started in Sept. of last year and still have a lot of details to finish up.

It took me about three months to prep for about 1 month. I still have my last minute list on the refrig. I agree, no one can do it in a week.

I live in Bulgaria and the goverment here is trying to do it's best within it's limited resources. If you declare H5N1 in your poultry you are given double the flocks worth when they are destroyed. There isals oa booklet published telling you how to prevent it and last year they were warning farmers not to let their stock drink from lakes and resovoirs .
Storing enough food for winter is a wsy of life here and most people carry enough canned and preserved goods to last at leat 3 months. I was told that it was not unusal to put at least 500 jars of veg down at the end of the summer.

Western Australia here
the govt is doing drills for possible outbreaks, but no media coverage and no paper coverage at all of birdflu. You have to search on google to find any info that the aus govt is putting out there in miniscule amounts and then they are saying prep for 2weeks!!!! The govt has changed their plan to give all tamiflu to essential workers as a prevention and have headed to internation concerns and are now keeping it for the sick cheers
