I just found this article appearing as today's news http://www.the-star.co.ke/news/breakthrough-may-end-sleeping-sickness.  The "breakthrough" has been known for over a year.  I covered it as part of my epidemiology course.  (Thank you again Rickster for starting me on that road.  You will be remembered fondly for the rest of my life for your encouragement.)  Yet The Star is publishing it as "breaking news!"  The only part of the article that is new is the area wherein the treatment is being applied.  

It is an interesting article despite its grandiose claims of novelty.


So, If you think that you may be teetering in the jaws of this trap, just tell us with the post and I am sure we will ferret out the truth from that.  Remember to include the source of the information, please.
