So I live in the tropics (on an island near Guam) and I just read in the paper that they have quarantined two people in Guam who are suspected of having the H1N1. They are sending the test away to San Diego for results.
But anyway, I was wondering what happens to the flu in areas where it is always warm. I know that it thrives in the cold and usually moves around the world with each region's winter, but what happens in a place where it is around 85 degrees year round (with high humidity)? If it comes to my island will it be able to survive the weather? I'm guessing that it will be able to spread person to person, but that it won't survive for long at all outside the body (like on a door knob). Any thoughts?
