http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-01-06/enough-already-its-time-send-despicable-house-saud-dustbin-history

That is, Washington’s Mideast policy is predicated on the assumption that the answer to high oil prices and energy security is deployment of the Fifth Fleet to the Persian Gulf. And that an associated alliance with one of the most corrupt, despotic, avaricious and benighted tyrannies in the modern world is the lynch pin to regional stability and US national security.

Nothing could be further from the truth. The House of Saud is a scourge on mankind that would have been eliminated decades ago, save for Imperial Washington’s deplorable coddling and massive transfer of arms and political support.

The USA/west is trying to crush Russia once and for all. This is the simple version.

Remember they smashed the USSR into tiny pieces.  Some resistance has risen from the ashes and it will be eradicated very soon.

I can't see Russia putting up much of a fight.  Just look at what happened with the Ukraine!!!  The West installed a puppet government right under Moscow's nose.

Putin did stuff all. Nuffing

Russia will be eaten up by the west very soon..

Iran has accused Saudi Arabia of using warplanes to attack the Iranian embassy in the Yemeni capital Sana’a. Some guards were reportedly wounded in the attack, according to state news channel IRIB.

The Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen says it will investigate the accusation, according to coalition spokesman Brigadier General Ahmed Asseri, as cited by Reuters.

cobber, Gorbachow claimed that Tjernobyl nuclear disaster in 1986 meant the end of the Soviet Union. I think also the Soviet war in Afghanistan 1979-1989 did have a "very high price". Reagan started the "star wars" idea wich was to much of a cost for the Soviet Union. There are a lot of reasons why the S.U. collapsed. But the "west" did fight the cold war with money that was not there. The banking-crises may be a result of that "victory".

I think the world would be a better place when people would respect each others decisions and not rule over other people.

A big risk that the US can not control is fighting between Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Israel and on the other side Iran. A war between China and several pacific countries. International chaos-even the US have their limits !

Yeah i agree. Its messy. The soviets are not the united front they once were. Hearts and minds splintered, but they are still kicking.

Funny you mention "Star wars" missile shield. I just read it was recently commissioned in Romania. I seem to recall this goes against the NATO agreement which ended the cold war.

I've coin the phrase "Cold war two electric boogaloo"  It'll catch on..   (showing my age)

Russia being boot from NATO to me was the most significant change. This is over the Ukraine which the Yanks created anyway. Totally bull$h!t in my books. This is highly provocative. Most don't realize just how much of a fcuk you this is. The US and allies now sits just outside Moscow with tanks and bombs!!!!! WOW, a significant threat to Russia!!!!

PS: Russians have the most nuclear weapons.

All that aside

There is a definite push to restructure the power block with in the mid east. The new deal with Iran and Iraq will have a ripple effect.

My own war monitor is looking for hallmarks which were in the lead up to the last great war. surprisingly there are a lot of similarities. The most obvious was the Proxy wars. We already have a few, but not as nasty yet.

Truth be known we could have another pearl harbor. Surprise attack?? who knows

I'm glad i'm on the other side of the world and out of range of most of the bombs

http://foreignaffairsreview.co.uk/2014/03/cold-war-2/

For the Russian Federation, in a way the Cold War has never truly been over.  The fall of the Soviet Union and the decade of humiliation that followed under Boris Yeltsin’s presidency cemented the idea in people’s minds both in and out of Russia that the new Russian Federation was no longer a superpower by any means. In that sense, the rise of Vladimir Putin was a return to form, with Russia gradually re-establishing its influence over many post-Soviet states. Putin also embodied much of the Soviet nostalgia that accompanied Russia’s long drift into irrelevance. For many Russians, the Cold War, or at least its foreign policy dynamic, was a period that Russia can look back on with a certain degree of pride. It was certainly the height of Russian military and scientific achievement, as well as being the only period in Russian history where they were a truly global power with a network of allies and bases that protected their interests abroad.  Considering the downgrade to regional power status and the degradation of Russia’s science and technology sector, all the while their once-poor counterparts in China have soared effortlessly to the top, it is easy to see why some Russians, especially the former-Soviet bureaucrats that dominate the Foreign Ministry, still look wistfully to the way things used to be.

The chaos in western Asia and parts of Africa may hurt plans China has more than Russia. The "New Silk Road" was meant to connect Europe and China in trade relations. That "New Silk Road" would isolate the US.

China, Russia and Iran are three very different nations with very different backgrounds but united against the US/NATO. Since these three countries (more or less) border each other chances for "third parties" to make trade difficult is limited. India is the fourth player in the Asia developments.

India is watching developments in Afghanistan/Pakistan, Middle East and China Sea. Not taking sides eventhough Pakistan is doing bussiness with both blocks.

On the longer term the US/NATO foreign policy may be such a disaster that Asia-Africa will try to keep US-EU out. There is no point for Asia to pay for energy in the US$. Why do trade with countries far away when you can get the same goods and services nearby ?

Gadaffi was murdered by NATO for his plans to create one African currency. Zimbabwe already decided to switch to Yuan (if my info iscorrect). Asia may get their 21st century form of a Asian Monroe Doctrine https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monroe_Doctrine

Was it general Mac Arthur who said that the (Second world) war in the Pacific was won by bulldozers (making airfield-strips within hours)? The present war is now an economic battle field even more than a military battleground.

https://www.superstation95.com/index.php/world/750

Commerce between Europe and North America has literally come to a halt.  For the first time in known history, not one cargo ship is in-transit in the North Atlantic between Europe and North America.  All of them (hundreds) are either anchored offshore or in-port.  NOTHING is moving.

This has never happened before.  It is a horrific economic sign; proof that commerce is literally stopped.

The reason commerce has stopped is simple: People are not buying things.   When people do not buy things, retailers do not sell things, so they do not order more goods for stock.

That's a BS article for sure!!!   There's plenty of ships moving stuff between US and Europe.

I shipped a container from Italy to the USA last month and it was a pain in the arse getting a spot.

Just found a map of 2015 movements. confirms it

Dragon Kings tells their vassal states like UK and USA to MAN-UP

Boost in Pentagon Spending Raises Risk of Conflicts With Russia, China

The massive increase in US military spending proposed this week for fiscal year 2017 will threaten a new Cold War - or even full-scale conflicts - between the United States and Russia or China, analysts told Sputnik.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — On Tuesday, Defense Secretary Ashton Carter revealed in a preview of the 2017 Department of Defense budgetary request to Congress that US military spending is to be quadruped from $789 million to $3.4 billion per year.

Belgium Issues Iodine Pills to All Citizens in Nuclear Emergency Plan

http://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/belgium-issues-iodine-pills-all-citizens-nuclear-emergency-plan-n5646064

Belgium is to issue iodine tablets to its entire population as part of a revised nuclear emergency plan, a measure unveiled just months after it emerged that ISIS-linked bombers spied on a top scientist and hoped to build a "dirty bomb."

A dose of iodine, which helps to limit the effects of radiation on the body, will be made available to all 11 million people in the small country, Health Minister Maggie De Block told reporters Thursday.

The move, which has yet to be finalized by officials, was triggered by a review of emergency plans initiated in the wake of the 2011 Fukushima nuclear meltdown in Japan, De Block said.

However, it also follows the discovery in that a senior researcher at a Belgian center which produces a significant portion of the world's supply of radioisotopes had been spied upon by a terror cell.

Secret film of the scientist was found Nov. 30 during a raid on the home of Mohamed Bakkali, an ISIS-linked suspect who has since been charged with involvement in the Paris attacks that killed 130 people and wounded hundreds more.

Last month it emerged the film was recorded by brothers Khalid and Ibrahim El Bakraoui, who were among the bombers responsible for the March terror attacks in Brussels.

Be prepared! It may be time....^_^v

The problem with the Belgian nuclear plants is that most of them are old and they all have a lot of technical problems. It is quite unique that three neighbouring countries-Netherlands, Germany, Luxembourg did ask Belgium to stop those plants.
There is discussion of issuing iodine tablets in a 100 kilometer/60 miles radius of those nuclear plants. That would cover halve of the Netherlands.

For some more info on the Belgian nuclear plants: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tihange_Nuclear_Power_Station

The 4-reactors nuclear plant at Doel is near one of the major European ports of Antwerp. Tihange, 3 reactors, is not that far from the German Ruhr-area. The major economic center of Germany for decades. A large scale accident would harm west European economy strongly. (The Indian Point just north of New York on the Hudson-river , leaking, forms the same kind of threat for the US economy.

The vulnurability of a nuclear plant is in its need to cool. That is what caused the disasters at Windscale, Three mile Island, Chernobyl, Fukushima and proberbly more (Russia is hiding info). If terrorist want to "explode"a nuclear plant they will proberbly find a way to do so.

But sealevel rise, earthquakes (some of the nuclear plants are build on top of fractures) etc. is a bigger problem.

The power of Russia's military

Increasing nimble and high tech, Russia's military machine is now more powerful than at any time since the end of the Cold War.

The US is going fully for "plan-B" in Syria; the US want Assad (and with him Russia, Iran, China) out of the region. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-05-18/nato-announces-war-policy-against-russia

The western media keep claiming that Russia is agressive when it sends ships and planes to look after US ships near Russian naval-bases in the Baltic. The US is also going for war with China ? http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-05-18/chinese-fighter-jets-fly-within-50-feet-us-spy-plane-over-south-china-sea

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-05-18/us-army-preparing-major-deployment-orders-177000-body-armor-plates After "liberating"oil fields in Ukraine, Libya and Iraq the US (and NATO T stands for Terror) is now "liberating" oil in Brazil and Venezuela.

The mood in Europe can become very anti-US (and already is getting anti-EU) with the ongoing foreign policy disasters of the several US governments. http://www.strategic-culture.org/news/2016/05/18/obama-ratchets-up-invade-russia.html

The US-oil addiction is causing conflicts with China in the South China Sea. The US energy related agression towards Venezuela, Brazil, is in progress. The main target for US agression is Russia (with the US/NATO wars in Syria and Ukraine just as a start). http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-05-21/wwiii-hybrid-geo-financial-war-between-nato-and-russia-dangerously-escalating

US nuclear missiles in Romania are a repeat of American agression in the early '60. The US did put nuclear weapons in Turkey then. When the Soviet Union did put nuclear weapons on Cuba the world came close to World War 3. President Kennedy was willing to take away the weapons from Turkey-in return the S.U. did take away the missiles from Cuba.

I did see reports of US SEAL s training in Bulgaria for an invasion of Crimea http://sputniknews.com/military/20160525/1040251198/navy-seals-bulgaria-training.html, Saudi Arabia making plans for "jihadis" to fight in Southern Russia. http://nationalinterest.org/feature/russia-saudi-arabia-are-headed-showdown-16362 (The tone of the Peoples Daily from China is getting more agressive http://en.people.cn/

US troops in Syria are planning to move to Raqqa. (The CIA would be evacuating leading IS figures http://www.veteranstoday.com/2016/05/26/isis-evacuating-raqqa-at-us-order/).
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-05-26/first-photos-us-soldiers-syria-released and http://www.veteranstoday.com/2016/05/27/southfront-syria-battlespace-may-27-2016/ The US is going for plan B in Syria, to move out Assad, Russia and Iran. With other stories from the Ukraine-Kiev "government" of retaking Crimea from Russia the outlook is not good.

http://theduran.com/threat-russia-china-indias-new-pro-us-realignment/

India (popp 1.32 billion) has its own plans for trade in SE Asia, Central Asia and the EU. These plans can bring conflicts with China (popp. 1.38 billion).

IS (active in western Asia, Afghanistan), Al Qaeda (new branch in Bangla Desh ?) seem to be roxy armies" in a global war.

SuperStation95 reports Turkish troops invaded northern Syria. I do not see any confirmation elsewere yet that this action is "real and long term". SuperStation has links like http://sputniknews.com/middleeast/20160530/1040503488/turkey-enters-syria.html#ixzz4AF18v3od but it is not clear if these Turkish operations are small special forces.

The Syrian Army is moving towards Raqqa from the South West while Kurdish/US forces are moving towards the IS-capital from the North. https://southfront.org/syrian-army-joins-the-race-to-raqqa-as-several-thousand-soldiers-pour-into-east-hama/

Further enlargement of NATO, (Montenegro, Sweden, Ukraine, Georgia), the anti-balistic missiles in Romania (against non-excisting missiles from Iran), putting tanks, soldiers close to the Russian borders, for me are signs of western agression. On top of that comes the US actions against China (a.o.) in the South China-sea.

The US is moving into the danger-zone. Who will become the next president of the US to lead that country in these conflicts ? Clinton would be very impopular widely in and outside the US. Trump is a fraud-unacceptable for Mexico (and maybe even wanted in Europe for his fundraising fraud for the Trump-Towers investmunt fund). Maybe Sanders would be the least of all evils but he may not be accepted by Wall-street and the Military-Industrial (oil)-Corruptioncomplex.

We live in interesting times.

Russia seems to be blocking US plans to split Syria in three parts. Russian airforce is backing a Syrian Arab Army, Hezbollah and Iran offensive towards Raqqa. The US had plans to use Raqqa airbase for their plans. US special forces are moving towards Raqqa with Kurdish forces from the north. http://sputniknews.com/columnists/20160531/1040543849/road-raqqa-syria.html

Russia keeps bombing supply-routes to IS from Turkey (and Jordan ?). Iraq wants Turkish army to leave Iraq (if needed with Russian aid) https://www.rt.com/news/345273-iraq-turkey-ambassador-troops/.

I do not find any new news on Chinese special forces (working with SAA and Russia) or Turkish troops in Syria.
