Children should be happy and playing !

I would like to believe that invading North Korea with (foreign) investments could avoid a major war. Every North Korean producing things like geigercounters, solarpanels etc. With more democratic rights in the factory than outside it would undermine the NK elite. That elite could get some security to avoid "unwanted actions" and to get out of the crisis.

Most states have police that can deal with hostage situations. Weapons are persuation, patience, the determination that violence will make things even worse.

https://www.rt.com/news/381205-syria-mosque-strike-pentagon/ When Russia and Iran have to start believing Israel and the US are coordinating their actions inside Syria (and against Iran) this is a further escalation. Saudi Arabia is already involved in wars with Iran in Yemen and Syria-openly support by Israel and the US (and Pakistan in KSA) is "bad news".

Further links on North Korea

Yonhap is a South Korean press agency.

http://en.people.cn/n3/2017/0318/c90000-9192116.html The Peoples Daily is the news-outlet of the (ruling) Chinese Communist Party. From this article, US-China trade gives the US 2.6 milion jobs. Trumps aproach of North Korea reminds China of the Bush policies-nothing new; negotiations work better; NK stopped its Yongbyonnuclear facilities (due to talks) in 2007.

King Salman also visits China http://english.alarabiya.net/en/News/gulf/2017/03/15/King-Salman-visits-China-his-fifth-Asian-destination.html (DJ) Oil-talks will be on the agenda; China spreads its energy dependency over several countries. Saudi Arabia may exchange Chinese weapons for Saudi oil ? Also Yemen, Syria will be "touched" to get "better understanding of eachothers views". China would like to "improve relations" with the Arab world for economic and strategic reasons (China is working on a navy base in Djibouti, plays a role in the Yemen-war but does not want to "close doors"; good relations with Iran should not interfere Saudi-China relations. Pakistan has good relations with both China and Saudi Arabia.)

Both South Korea and the US are in a political crisis wich makes the situation much more difficult. Trump should give Merkel a big hug instead of having difficulties with shaking hands with her. The US needs the EU (and v.v.). http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-03-17/trump-obama-wiretap-question-gestures-merkel-and-says-least-we-have-something-common

http://www.veteranstoday.com/2017/03/16/neo-north-korea-the-grand-deception/ has an article from https://www.nlg.org/ in wich it is stated that North Korea has a right to develop and test weapons of mass destruction just like other countries have that right. North Korea wants peace with the South-reunification-and an end of US presence. From the North Korean state media https://kcnawatch.co/newstream/1489825903-45059311/u-s-hostile-policy-toward-dprk-is-bound-to-go-bust-rodong-sinmun/ Another Chinese view http://www.globaltimes.cn/content/1038239.shtml#.WMwLHTr74I4.facebook

The North-Korea crisis is created by the US to have an excuse for military pressence in East Asia-is the view of North Korea, and proberbly also a bit more China and other countries may look at it. (DJ; this is not my view, but there are more views on NK than just the western ones. )

http://en.people.cn/n3/2017/0319/c90000-9192222.html The Chinese president Xi did meet US foreign secretary Tillerson. Xi may visit the US in April.

https://www.rt.com/news/381277-north-korea-engine-test/ North Korea keeps preparing rocket (=ICBM) technology.

(DJ) The discussion is on how to react on North Korea's choices. Bejing wants to keep lines of communication open eventhough they are very unhappy with wath NK is doing. The US claims that talking is useless. I doubt if there is someone in the Pentagon seriously considering military unilateral US action against NK. Simply put, military action against NK means major war.

At present in my opinion there is a serious risk of escalation due to miscommunications. A NK missile-test could be seen as an attack on Japan or South Korea. Navy ships could end up in the wrong place causing violence.

http://www.veteranstoday.com/2017/03/18/will-russia-allow-the-nuclear-attacks-on-syria-that-trump-and-israel-have-planned-go-on/ There have been rumours of usage of small nuclear weapons from 2003 (US may have used an N-bomb on Saddam Hoessein Airport near Bagdad against Revolutionary Guards elite forces. KSA may have used nuclear weapons in Yemen. Depleted uranium also can give radio-active traces.)

The US is working with Al Queda and IS terrorists against Russia in Syria. Renaming terrorists, calling them "moderate" makes things worse.

Turkey on the side of Russia and Iran on the Kurdish issue;

Turkey, Iran, Iraq consider counter-measures over Kurdish referendum

Turkey, Iran and Iraq have agreed to consider counter-measures against Kurdish northern Iraq over a planned independence referendum, Turkey’s state-run Anadolu news agency said on Thursday. In a joint statement, the foreign ministers of the three countries voiced concerns that the referendum would endanger gains Iraq has made against Islamic State, and reiterated worries of potential new conflicts in the region. The report gave no details of the possible measures but said the ministers, who were in New York attending the UN General Assembly, called on the international community to intervene. Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has threatened to impose sanctions against Kurdish northern Iraq. Turkish troops are also carrying out military exercises near the border. (Reuters)

Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani has, in fact, developed an unassailable argument on the nuclear negotiations. He says the deal – which the P5+1 and the IAEA all agree is working – could be used as a model elsewhere. German chancellor Angela Merkel concurs. But, Rouhani says, if the US suddenly decides to unilaterally pull out, how could the North Koreans possibly be convinced it’s worth their while to sit down to negotiate anything with the Americans ?

(DJ; Trump should realize that international support for more US wars is "very limited". In fact Russia-China-whit Pakistan-Iran-Turkey as allies-are the new "superpower". The "petro-US-$-days" are over.)
