Yesterday, we lost our colleague and friend Hedaya Hamad, Director of the Youth and Volunteers Department, at the PRCS - #Gaza Strip to the bullets of the Israeli occupation in the siege of PRCS headquarters and Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Yunis.
 Hedaya was killed when, as usual, she rushed to rescue the injured displaced people who were sheltering at PRCS after being shot by Israeli soldiers.

I really wanted to see Putin go into detail on the degeneration of Western society, gender insanity, etc., because I think it would have resonated with the American People.

 On the night from Friday to Saturday, from February 9 to 10, the Project 22160 patrol ship was attacked by BeK while escorting a Russian tanker from the Bosphorus Strait. Seven unmanned boats attempted to hit the ship's side, but the crew noticed the drones and fired at them. As a result, one USV was destroyed, and the rest retreated towards the Odessa region.  The US Air Force RQ-4B UAV observed this entire incident. There was a mass migration as the violence forced between 10-15 MILLION people to leave their generational homes and destroying communities that had existed for centuries. For context about 700,000 Palestinians were displaced in 1948.
The Partition of India led to communal riots, massacres and a cycle of violence that continues today. The wildly different economic outcomes also contribute to the tension. Even today, Kashmir is one of the biggest flashpoints of conflict, which has a Muslim majority population, but had a ruler that sided with India. Pakistan wants it back, India feels the matter is long settled.
And similar to Hamas, you have terrorists in Kashmir that want to create an Islamic state and are willing to commit mass violence on civilians to get what they feel is their land back. While not a perfect analogy, there are obviously similarities between India/Pakistan and Israel/Palestine, though at a fraction of the scale of displacement. It’s important to note the differences. For India, there is obviously a vast postcolonial legacy to consider.
For Israel, there’s obviously the aftermath of the Holocaust that was a primary driver for their statehood. And obviously the international community has very different stakes in each of these conflicts.
But at the root of both, there is a desire to address the perceived injustices that followed the end of World War II. So my question is, are we trying to rewind all of the injustices of 1947/1948? Or just the parts of history that affect the Jews?
I think it makes sense to try to go forwards and not backwards, to address the injustices, as they exist today, rather than returning to the way the world was in 1947. DJ; The "global south" knows the "divide&rule"neo-colonial games of the anti-democratic "west". They know the "west" wants exploitation-keeping the rest down and poor... In that "west" the political "elite" finds itself more and more isolated...Most Americans hate both biden and trump...In the UK "new-labour" is part of a uni-party...Even here in NL -with lots of parties- there is a tendency "politics agree on so many issues" we have ONE major party with several faces/"leaders"... Democracy has become democrazy....The EU no longer in public but in political elite interest... With lots of other problems only getting much worse high speed (health, climate crises) the present political elite "needs wars" to stay in power/control...divide&rule inside the west...Forces (a.o. trade unions, XR, peace groups) are slowly organizing for change... Nor have Israel, the United States, or their NATO allies been deterred by findings in January by the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the highest judicial body under the UN charter, that Israel’s operations in Gaza could “plausibly” fall under the 1948 Genocide Convention. As a pretext for voting against the latest ceasefire resolution yesterday, the Biden administration put forward a proposed alternative version of the resolution that was so vaguely worded as to be unintelligible. It evidently called for a “temporary ceasefire in Gaza as soon as practicable” and disapproved of Israel’s plans to storm Rafah, where a million people have sought refuge, “under current circumstances.” At the same time as the US exercised its veto power on the Security Council, separate legal proceedings were underway in the ICJ that underscored the extent to which Israel has been flouting international law for decades in its drive to illegally occupy and annex Palestinian territory. Unlike the pending case before the ICJ that attracted global attention last month, accusing Israel of violating the Genocide Convention, the proceedings this week were part of a separate earlier “advisory proceeding” originating from a UN General Assembly resolution passed at the end of December 2022. This resolution asked the ICJ, seated in The Hague (Netherlands), to address what “legal consequences” should arise “from the ongoing violation by Israel of the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, from its prolonged occupation, settlement and annexation of the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967, including measures aimed at altering the demographic composition, character and status of the Holy City of Jerusalem, and from its adoption of related discriminatory legislation and measures?” As part of that case, the presentations on behalf of Palestine this week involved a precise exposition of the historical record. These presentations established that fully half the Palestinian people were “massacred or driven off their land in the 1948 Nakba,” after which their land was “was partitioned and half of it allocated to a new state that promptly extended it to 78 per cent by brute force. DJ, Maybe the "big (historic) picture"; -BRICS/rest want a more fair global trade system -NATO/west sticking to uni-polar -in fact- US rule... A mistake often made is thinking a "new big war" will be a repeat-someway-of the previous "big war"... Very likely 9 countries may have nuclear weapons; 1. Russia, 2, US, 3.UK, 4, France, 5, China, 6. India, 7. Pakistan, 8. "israel" 9. North Korea...besides that the non-nuclear potential can also do "a very large amount of" damage... One reason why there has NOT been a major attack on NATO-proxy "israel" is BRICS does not want war...Not out of weakness but it does not need war to reach its goals...
