https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201804121063466771-trump-erdogan-speak-syria-phone/ DJ-Is Erdogan more against Assad than against Israel, US ? Or is it a "game" he is playing ? Only focussing on what he believes to be Turkish interests (fighting Kurds-creating a Turkish powerbase in the Middle East) ?

1-petro$ (against energy deals in any other currency or exchange-the petro-dollar is the foundation for US being the only "super power")
2-Military Industrial Complex-weapons for profit-the more war, the more profit
3-Saudi Arabia (and UAE etc) are paying
4-Israel wants Iran and Syria under control
5-Cover-up for western involvement with false flags, support for IS etc.
6-Distraction from internal crises (US-Mueller/Cohen, Stormy Daniëls, UK-Skripal-lies, Brexit, France social "reforms")

-Iran only getting involved during western attack on Syria when Israel attacks Syria (DJ-or Iran). Iran supposed to be a save heaven for Syria, a bases for Russia-not a warzone.
-Turkey expected-by Syria-to be involved in NATO operations
-Russia will try to bring down as many missiles as they can-but whit a very large number of missiles a lot of them may reach their goal.
-US may have told Russia what the targets will be (DJ ???)-Russia enabled Syria to minimize loss of life, some damage control. Missiles still will destroy (empty) government buildings, air/army-bases, infrastructure.
-Attack is supposed coming night-limited in time, less than two days (is the plan)
-Russia does want to avoid further escalation-deal with the damage (and repair it a.s.a.p.)
-Reason for attack is Douma-not chemical attack-just an excuse (there was no chemical atack)-western/Saudi "hope" were the 30.000 "moderate terrorists"near Damascus-they are gone.

https://syria.liveuamap.com/en/2018/11-april-fsa-launches-about-120-grad-missiles-towards-2-saa DJ-Looks like "the west" did get more weapons to their "rebels"(including IS).

Build up of forces goes on. Most likely also all kind of diplomacy-parties trying to get allies-or positions (like that of China) clear. Very limited (at best) attemps for deescalation or peace - most parties are preparing for war.

DJ-Truth dies as first in any war, the second victim is "planning"-wars never go to plans. Certainly in this powder keg-situation (in fact a global powder keg-not only in Syria) with many countries/groups involved the only thing that may save us is very fast deescalation ! https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-04-11/china-launches-massive-combat-drill-hainan-war-taiwan-becomes-more-probable

There are enough groups that are willing to start a major conflict with new "acts" [url]https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Liberty_incident[/url-in 1967 Israel attacked a US ship hoping the US would see it as an Egyptian attack and join Israel (more) against Egypt.

Tunnel vision can cause "leaders" to loose sense of proportion and reality. More bombs may not bring an end to a "conflict" (The last "war" the US had was world war 2-the rest were "conflicts"without any role of congress)-but start more escalation. (Remember how Laos and Cambodia did get involved in the Viet Nam war-the US was supported by Australia, New Zealand, South Korea-in an active way-NATO more passive for logistics etc.)

Things still look "very bad"-the only good news is that-so far- the major escalation did not yet start.

DJ-In my opinion it is good news US and Russia did keep in contact at diplomatic level. The risk of a direct US-Russia confrontation may get less. Still there are many groups willing to push for escalation.

Since Syria-area has become a powderkeg it is essential to deescalate as soon as possible to avoid accidents.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uBZoHpiHIE Ex-Israeli Intel Boss: US has no experience with equal opponent. Trump only will start action when he knows the US will win.

DJ-Again, the real complication is in the large group of parties involved. It looks like-for the moment-US-Russian talks ended in "serious disagreement". Still all the leaders are aware that-even if there is military action-there also will be an urgency for talks.

Since days went by without major western action a "limited strike" will damage empty buildings, air/army bases etc. The US would like to avoid hitting Russians in Syria. Russia does not accept any US/western action in Syria.

A major strike will bring much risks for escalation and may not bring any further change, Russia and Iran stay in Syria.

By the way-today the Dutch P.M. still is on a trade mission in China, the Dutch FM wil make a one day visit to Moscow. Export did grow in 2017-including agriculture machinery to Russia. The Netherlands need trade, an open market. Not war and protectionism.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZzmv_6--WU Israeli News Live; Syria captured UK military in East Ghouta. NATO planned a "rebel atack" on Damascus.

If this is the basis for any desecalation things only will get worse:

"The US is exceptional, Russia is not"-coming US Secretary of State, ex CIA Pompeo

When Russia fires at our ships and planes used in an attack-we will sink their ships, bring down their planes. That the US has no permission to be in Syria or Lebanon (for this kind of action), there is no UN basis for it-the US is "exceptional" and above any (international) law.

Palin warned of advocacy for military operations in Syria rooted in financial self-interest. She stated, “I hate to say it, but a lot of the talk that’s enthusiastic about war, unfortunately, comes from people with strong ties to defense contractors and have strong ties to those who ultimately can make money on the operations. So often you got to follow the money and that leads you to what the root is of some of these arguments.”

and http://halturnerradioshow.com/index.php/news/world-news/2362-un-ambassador-trying-to-avert-war-between-u-s-and-russia (DJ-It looks like MbS-Saudi Arabia is buying support for war against Syria):

UPDATE 11:04 PM EDT --  The window for a US strike on Syria appears to now be closed for the day.  The sun is rising in Syria which is 7 hours ahead of the US east coast and the US *usually* strikes at night.

Why we are even considering doing this is beyond me.  There is NO U.S. National Security Interest in Syria.  There is NO legal authority for the US to even BE in Syria.

There are real and legitimate questions as to whether or not there EVEN WAS a chemical attack, and a whole boatload of questions about WHO did it if one actually happened.

Commons sense says that Syria's President Assad is winning his battle against US-backed "rebels" and had no reason at all to use chemical weapons and bring the wrath of God down on him.  That's a compelling argument for NO action.

Common sense also says that there are people with a very large monetary interest in seeing Assad ousted, so a new gas pipeline from Qatar to Europe can be built.  It is, in my view, THOSE people who are concocting these chemical weapons fairy tales and THOSE people who are pushing for US action.

The United States is not a mercenary army for hire.  President Trump should come out on TV and say something like "The United States cannot prove IF a chemical attack happened or WHO did it.  Until such time as there is actual evidence, I will NOT authorize an attack upon another country."

That would put this mess to rest immediately and Trump would solidify his base by proving he's not a reactionary war hawk.  After all, he DID campaign on bringing our troops home.  This would be a good time to do it, and thereby cut the throat of the Deep State that is getting us to wage never-ending wars all over the world.

International relations are getting even worse....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tEdr0tq6lU Israeli News Live; Turkey-Russia conflict over Crimea.

Talking to Pentagon officials after the apparent gas attack, Mr. Trump called for a more sweeping retaliatory response than the military advised, one White House official said. He asked to consider options that would punish not only the Syrian regime but also two of its sponsors—Russia and Iran. “He’s pressed back” on suggestions from Defense Secretary Jim Mattis that the response should be more limited in scope, the official said.
