@ 4=laro, I was a born and raised Catholic, and I didn't turn my life around until I was 25 years old, after one of my best friends turned me on to a guy by the name of Chuck Missler. If you are seeking the truth checkout his site, www.khouse.org .

I realize this is a secular site, so please forgive me in advance! It's not my intention to push any religious belief on this website, but there's a lot of confusion about es******ology in the secular world, and we are in the thick of it today.

So you know how it is then 4=laro, Catholics are a very skeptical bunch when it concerns born again's! My sons Cub Scout master was in the Catholic seminary for six years, and when I brought up the subject of Daniel chapter nine, he got this glazed over look on his face and had no recollection of it's significance regarding es******ology! Missler's is not what you would expecxt, he's a graduate from the US Naval Academy, and has served on the Board of Directors of 12 public companies and was CEO of 6 of them.    

First of all there are some key events that have to take place before the 666 prophecy comes into play.

1. The Church has yet to be ruptured
2. The Magog invasion as yet to take place
3. The Temple in Jerusalem has yet to be built  
4. Israel is not living in peace
5. Damascus has yet to be destroyed
6. The Anti-Christ has yet to reveal himself
7. There has been no world wide peace for 3.5 Years

The mark of the beast will come into play at the middle point of the 70th week, the final week of years.

What we are experiencing now are "birthing pain". This is directed at the Church, and the final seven years are directed at the Jews / Israel and the world.

 

When Jesus is speaking about not knowing the time or the hour he is speaking about God's call to gather up the Church. If your a Jew and whitness the obamanation of desolation in the Temple, you know there are 3.5 years left until Jesus returns to Earth to make an end of sins!

I think we are getting a little carried away and it is time to abandon this thread.

@ Technologist, I'm afraid I've been a little generic in trying to explain the prophecy of Daniel Chapter 9, and the final week of years. Please checkout the links below for a detailed explanation. Check your calendar against the mathematical prophecy that Gabriel gave Daniel almost three centuries before Christ was born.

To answer you question Technologist, there is an interval between the 69th week of years, and the final 70th week of years that has spanned over two thousand years. I used the term "the Abomination of Desolation" as a trigger point to start the count down to the final 3.5 years. What will trigger the final 70th week will more than likely be the revealing of the Anti-Christ, who will enforcing a covenant. The term 666 will more than likely come into play at this time.

"When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be."

Matthew 24:15-21

I don't necessarily think it's god's intention to give his people a Jesus style ass whooping, due to the fact he and his Saints will be battling Satin and his fallen angel's. That's not to say there won't be many humans that are demon possessed. As for the small group of people, they have suffered a great deal from 70A.D. to May 14, 1948, and even to present!

Luke 19:41-44

⁴¹As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it ⁴²and said, "If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace—but now it is hidden from your eyes. ⁴³The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side. ⁴⁴They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God's coming to you."

Jesus held them accountable for not knowing the day of his visitation that was spoken of in Daniel chapter 9.
