    Posted: August 10 2014 at 6:59pm
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) quietly CHANGED their definition of Ebola transmission from "direct contact with bodily fluids" to "being within 3 feet" or "in the same room" as an infected person. Put simply, CDC is now admitting Ebola is AIRBORNE! ! !

Casual contact as defined in the footnote is not "direct contact with bodily fluids".

This is not good news. I am updating my preps so I am not worried if this gets bad. I don't know about all of you but I have been lax in not keeping up to date with all of my prep. Oh, by the way Wesson Oil will go bad after 7 years in a cool basement...it turned color so I know it is bad.

This is still not airborne transmission.  Yes I am hair splitting but for a realy good reason.

Droplet transmission (3 feet or same room) is very limited airborne.  This is VITAL if you are deciding wether or not to bug out.  Bugging out is the best option for survival (unless you have a shelter with porcelain air filters) with an airborne pathogen.

This type of air-transmission is most easily avoided by bugging IN.

As a point of interest this type of transmission with ebola has been known about for years (ebola reston).  It is most worrying that it has only now been admitted to publically

By definition I suppose Ebola would be considered somewhat airborne., just not on the level of Influenza.  Like everything else, there are levels, and in this case levels of perhaps airborne transmission. I would give this efficient, but  limited airborne transmission.  The problem with a virus achieving this particular level of airborne transmission is that we've never seen in it history prior this, so there really isn't any playbook to reference or anything to compare it to, except maybe the pneumonic version of the black death plague.  We can't necessarily define airborne transmission by solely comparing it to flu viruses.   It's airborne enough to possibly make it unstoppable for a very long time.

Having said all that, Ebola sticks on surfaces for a similar amount of time as influenza, so that's the same.  There is one good size different between the two in transmission, which is the following:

Question / answers with CDC:

"I’ve heard Ebola can remain in semen for over 10 weeks after recovery and exhibiting outward symptoms. Is this true?"

CDC:  "We believe Ebola can remain in semen for up to three months. It’s important for men to use condoms during this period."

The fact that the virus can survive in semen for several weeks is significantly different from the flu of course, and potentially makes it's long term spread as bad as influenza.  There's no mystery about the proliferation of sex and rape in Africa.   Even if there were a lull in cases, as soon as those good folk recover, it will reignite.  Just my opinion - still trying to figure out if this could ever be contained given this information.  A sexless America will lead to riots, lol.   People will probably start having sex in the streets soon as their last shot.  I'm terrible... poor onefluover on this.

That's too bad man. If the crud hits the fan with this, we're immediately launching SemenTalk.com for you. No wonder we lose members.

I'm not moderating that one...

Lol. This is definitely the only site on the planet where they can announce Ebola is limited airborne, and the same thread puts a smile on a face or two.

The current record of most users ever online on EI and the current and last records on AFT were all from my posts. What good are these sites to the general public if only a handful of regulars are the only ones logging in? There's room for a tiny bit of off topic poor taste humor or whatever. I know. I've read thousands of them. Didn't run me off. Not everyone out there can constantly chew nothing but professionalism. Even the best Pros can't.

Don't let the users online fool you as people are constantly coming and going. 50 here at one time is actually a lot higher.
Some sites might indicate there are 800 people online, 700 of them being bots. If you look at the number of views on threads, we surpass most of them, even though they show 900 online.

You are correct of course. Which is why when I made my CM post a couple or so months ago I noticed 107 views in 6 minutes. I didn't follow up but I'm sure 95 of them were dot govs. I will try to refrain from the pee pee jokes. It's not my favorite subject anyways. Really.
