I have been watching chicken prices in my local markets.  I really thought they would come down for a while with this bird flu thing but not out here in my neck of the woods.  I'd like to know what people are paying for different parts and where you are located and what stores you frequent.

Colorado Springs, Walmart, boneless skinless chicken breasts $2.99 to $3.99 a pound.

Woodland Park, Colorado, Safeway, boneless skinless chicken breasts $2.99 to $3.99 a pound.

Divide, Colorado, Venture Foods, boneless skinless chicken breasts $1.69 a pound this week.  Not nearing expiry date either.

Just curious about actual prices all over the country.  Thanks.

Sixty-nine cents a pound?!!!  My Lord.  I just went to the Venture Foods in Divide and bought the rest of their $1.69 chicken because it is going back up to $2.99 tomorrow.

Toronto I only saw once chicken on a really good sale, but we always have paid more for chicken then the States.
I find there isnt many packs in the chicken isle but its still full price in the major grocery stores, Its like the stores are ordering less chicken rather than put it on sale. I have noticed it on sale in the out of the way small butchers.

At the local asian food market they are selling chicken legs and theighs for 39 cents a pound.  At the Ralphs market two weeks ago, I picked up 12 whole chickens for 29 cents a pound.  They are still in the freezer as nobody in the family will eat them.
