Well my state is admitting over reporting of Covid Deaths.    So this is not as deadly as being reported.  It is time to open the states and get going with life again.  Us old people need to stay home!

Colorado amends coronavirus death count - says fewer have died of COVID-19 than previously reported

Looking at both the statistics and their collection methods in the rest of the world, I would expect the downwardly adjusted figures to be the false ones.

If you have a lower count, it is easier to argue for re-opening and I believe Colarado to be quite a rich state - which therfore means its people have more to lose from the lockdown.

Don't worry - opening up will fix those downgraded numbers in no time.

I see Fox is still trying to make us all warm and fuzzy about going out as the presenters broadcast from the safety of their homes. I saw a segment a few weeks ago where Judge Jeanine interviewed an anti-lockdown protester in Michigan and told her she supported her, and to keep doing what she's doing...as she broadcast from her living room. She even showed the audience her dog sharing the couch with her. At least she gets to legitimately drink while she's working now.

I don't understand while the virus is Active,(IE one person still has it )

People think that the CFR will somehow magically go down,

And everything is on the upside ,

Is that just because I'm a little pessimistic ?

Or a Realist ?

The article referred to many cases being "reclassified" but only mentioned one where there was alcohol abuse.  This may be a case of justified reclassification, but if it was due to over drinking because the person had Covid19 then in my mind it still is Covid19 related.   The Fox article could have given more information of the reasons for reclassification, but it was written more like a propaganda piece than an informative news report *.

In the past the BBC, in its Live News feed (so hard to link to) has had articles about "What counts as a Covid19 case?", in which they have come up with three main alternatives

1) Deaths where a test has confirmed the presence of SAR-Cov2.

2) Deaths where a doctor suspects Covid19 complications

3) Deaths in excess of what would normally be expected for this time of year [these in the UK have been about twice the amount of deaths recorded in the first definition].

Personally, I feel that the third definition gives the truer picture of what is happening.  An extra death is still a death regardless of what is on the death certificate.

There is a fourth definition which is coming out of places like Russia and it seems many of the Middle Eastern countries (as well as states like Nicaragua), where if there is a co-morbidity then it is not allowed to be classified as a corvid19 deaths - so Russia has had a 5½ fold increase in "pneumonia" cases.   It would be sad to see the USA follow the lead of people like Putin to suppress the extent of the problem we are facing.

* I lived for six years in a developing country and read the Government news paper and one from the opposition.  This experience help me realise just how newspapers can be used a propoganda and it helped me see that happening when I went back to reading the UK papers I had grown up reading.
