The paragraph that worries me is this one: Public Health England said on Friday that of a total of 3,692 people hospitalized in Britain with the Delta variant, 58.3% were unvaccinated and 22.8% were fully vaccinated. |

Almost nobody in the UK is unvaccinated; a few nutters, children under 12 etc.. We have opened up fully (except for international travel) masks are optional in England (still mandated here in Scotland, thankfully) and our daily death rate is down from over a thousand to a tiny handful (still too many, but better by far than it was). A few people are getting sick even after vaccination. That is the reason for the 92 and 96% effectiveness scores, but very few by comparison are dying. Make no mistake, I think our government's policies to be downright stupid and irresponsible. We are begging for a new and even more contatgious/deadly strain to emerge with our behaviour. But it is working for the present. Until said variant shows up, all but the most vulnerable people are reasonably safe (nothing on earth is 100% safe) and when I say: "most vulnerable" I mean nonogenarians and older, those on immunosuppressants for various diseases (transplantees like my friend and sufferers of extreme auto-immune diseases), HIV+ people, cancer patients, those born with severe immunodeficency and of course the terminally stupid - who are still unvaccinated. Almost no one else is getting seriously ill. So we can stop worrying for a bit. We need to watch new variants as they emerge, because a nasty-enough-to-avoid-the-vaccine one will come around eventually. But most of us (not a couple of my friends! Grrr!) can relax - for now. |

That was no brain fart, that was perfectly normal paranoia. No bad at all! That type of paranoia keeps you alive (Just because you are paranoid, does not mean they are not out to get you.) after all, no one gets out of this world alive. |
