After managing to get over the latest Ebola outbreak  they were hit with measles.   Mortality from measles  is high, currently just under 8000 measles deaths.  Now  Ebola is back.  5 dead in first report so WHO have sent an outbreak team.

This is terrible news.

Ebola: Congo hit by second outbreak as country faces coronavirus and measles crises

The combination of catastrophes facing the impoverished state "could prove lethal for millions of children and their families.

The thread was started in June 2020,  Now just over a year later we have

Quote With many children missing out on measles vaccines because of disruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic, fears are growing that there could be an outbreak of the disease in the Democratic Republic of Congo.  .....

DR Congo reported 440,000 cases in its last measles outbreak, which ended in September.

From the figures in the article the CFR was 1.77%, and that does not count those children injured for life.

I worry about the coronavirus here, in this well vaccinated country, with money for medicines.

I can't imagine what it must be like for those unlucky enough to live in the DRC.  My appocalypse is slowly rolling by; theirs must be like a speeding train.
