.

Our local college gives lessons in soap making. creams, lotions...

People sometimes make it outside this time of year as in the old days.
I like to use a bar soap base to make my own liquid soap and add
natural oils like lavender etc.

Make your own liquid soap from bar soap
(also See Recipes at left )

We take our bar soap when it becomes too small and soft then stuff it into the hand dispensor of liquid soap (1/2 empty) originally purchased at the store. After adding the piece or pieces of bar soap, we add water, shake and we've had a batch going for over three years. I can see where these recipes would be good for gifts, what we do is easy, looks and works great for the family. Thanks Mary.

hi... speaking of soap bits....my mom said her gram used on of these...

you can buy a new one

or an old one...

Price: $ 69.00

people used to put all their old bar soap chips in it and then swished it around in the sink
to wash dishes in... pre dishwasher days.  Mom said she  had a dishwasher in 1960. So pre 60's I imagine.
