DJ-https://www.zerohedge.com/health/researchers-uncover-which-blood-type-most-resistant-covid-19-and-another-malaria-link, https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/today-new-day-nyc-begins-lifting-lockdown-new-zealand-declared-coronavirus-free-live and https://www.zerohedge.com/health/satellite-data-suggests-covid-19-hit-china-long-previously-known-harvard

There are still a lot of unknowns; how big is the role of asymptomatic carriers in spreading Covid19, when was the rise in cases in China-already december ? Now a bit out of the news https://www.timesofisrael.com/in-alarming-spike-186-new-virus-cases-recorded-in-24-hours/ Covid19 in younger people.

Since the population in "third world countries"is much younger Covid19 will become much more a risk for younger people.https://www.rt.com/newsline/491228-who-contain-global-america/..

(DJ-More statistics on effected age groups could provide an insight of developments)

-https://nltimes.nl/2020/06/08/dutch-central-bank-warns-harsh-recession-high-unemployment DJ-All economic models have as a basis that Covid19 is "under control" while it is not. Since other healthcare stopped during the Covid19-peak https://nltimes.nl/2020/06/08/pandemic-result-500-breast-cancer-deaths-coming-years, other (also mental) illnesses did not get the needed attention-this Covid19 outbreak in NL (excess deaths most likely around 10.000 but since other diseases also did not spread we now have less deaths than expected) may cost up to 2000 lives due to other causes in the coming years ?

-https://www.moonofalabama.org/2020/06/russia-attempts-to-freeze-the-conflict-in-libya.html DJ-Both the US and Russia (and UAE, France, Greece, Egypt) may heve been supporting Haftar/LNA in Libya with Turkey, Qatar and Italy backing the GNA.

Since the conflict is over oil/gas near Cyprus also Lebanon, Israel will not accept Turkey steeling their gas. Russian strategy is to freeze the fighting (like they did in Ukraine, Syria) (DJ-and restart a conflict when they are in a better position if talks do not provide an acceptable outcome. You do not make deals with IS, al qaeda etc.)

-https://www.wunderground.com/cat6/cristobal-makes-a-beeline-for-midwest-rockies-slammed-by-a-rare-derecho "Bad weather" moving north to Canada.

DJ-A lot of uncertainties provide fuel for social unrest. A lot of people did lose their job, an even larger group is "somewere in between"-did not lose the job yet. Rising Covid19 cases will create more uncertainty and unrest-within a month larger groups may lose some state funded income-companies may go broke.

The police have seen a rise in what they are expected to do in social issues, dealing with confused people, relation problems-while their training has been more "military". The gap between what people expect from the police (solving social problems for a short term) and what the police can offer has widened-not only in the US-most likely worldwide. Spendingcuts both at the police and social care were the basics for that gap. Organized crime-using much more techniques, with better links to legal companies is a major issue in many states.

The only solution is more taxes to have a state being able to deal with social issues. A lot of crime is poverty related. The costs of making the 0.1% extreme rich is getting also extreme. Ideas like a "basic income" (via negative taxation-hopefully linked with a right to a "basic job" to create a better society) are not new-need action NOW !

Civilization, democracy is ALSO good housing, education, healthcare for ALL not only a happy few.

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.

Peak Prosperity; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjyNw8qgkaw

Is another round of Covid19 on its way-after the protests-or are we safe ? Looking at statistics "outcome ratio" is 90% recovery (often with long lasting complications/damage) 10% death. CFR=6.7%. While the number of cases is going up number of deaths-per day-is going down-better treatment ?

-lancet HCQ fraud, two of the authors related by mariage. Another ecovery" study from march finds no good results for HCQ (in severe cases, without zinc, overdose of HCQ)

-Nature  (march) study infectionrate 2 to 0 days before symptoms is very high-maybe over 50% of spread by pre-symptomatic cases. WHO claims "very limited risk" (based on what ?)

Leaves PP asking what are they doing ? Bad HCQ "studies" and the WHO with false claims of "low risk" in pre/a symptomatic cases ?

Min 22-protests.

-Lots of masks (for NL the Amsterdam over 10.000 protesters is one week old-so far no new cases eventhough some of them did get tested) Based on reopening stories (Texas) results may show in 3 to 5 weeks-incubation can take up to two weeks-and even then people may not feel that bad often if infected-the worst part comes later on.

-Police-rubber bullets are used to shoot at the eyes instead of the trunk. It is a precision gun with lasr-red dot-so the police know what they are doing.

Min 35-economy

-FED (and ECB etc) creating trillions to pump up stocks to keep the rich even richer while for the rest food crises is around the corner.

DJ-Here in the NL a leading virologist (Marianne Koopmans) is warning for a second wave in the NL coming from other countries. When you look at https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ (go to yesterday for all numbers, click on the arrow next to new cases) you see Brazil is now leading in new cases. India, Pakistan, Peru, Chili, Mexico coming up. In poorer countries being tested is exceprional-not the rule. Real numbers-certainly in Africa, Yemen etc. must be horrible. There is NO way we can stop some of that coming into the EU. (DJ-The US is on the same list as Brazil-out of control-soon airtraffic will restart....)

Another "horrible news"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDj3Hgv17y0 BP EarthWatch-locust eating all the food in East Africa, SouthWest Asia will -soon- result in mass starvation (300.000 people per day-3 months=30 million people ? Proberbly also FAO numbers behind this story).

https://www.zerohedge.com/economics/what-comes-after-deepest-economic-crisis-great-depression

DJ-We are already in the middle of "climate collapse" politics answer to that is denial. The Covid19-crisis comes on top of that-including a very major economic crisis-politics again-denial. We can get out of these problems but we need good global answers-at present politics is (again) not doing a good job. When they may finally react it might be too little too late.

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.

What is supposed to be "politics" in the US is of the rails, gone mad. "Normal" MSM would not come up with these kind of stories. Trump blamed China for Covid19 and win votes by doing so. If "democrats" choose to use the same "blame China" tactics US-China relations will only get worse.) https://www.zerohedge.com/political/civil-war-20-weather-report-tsunami-begins-you-knew Lots of people in the US that did lose their job about to lose their income...

-https://www.zerohedge.com/commodities/us-shale-could-collapse-global-downturn-persist DJ When the US became oil producer #1 Gulf States were "not happy"-they did lose a means for influence on the west. Russia also did see an oppertunity to split US-Gulf States alliance. China welcomed extra oil on the market-they are the biggest buyer-so more oil=lower prices. The KSA, OPEC+ are pushing the US out of bussiness. US oil only makes a profit at high prices (above 50$ minimum-better even 80-100$-US shale oil is debt based-50$ would cover interest costs).

A bankruptcy for major US shale oil would mean 2 things; 1 Banks that invested in shale oil go bankrupt-banking crisis, 2 US$ as international energy payment is gone (and with that the foundation of the US as a "super power"-"we" payed for that by having to use the US$ for buying Russian, Algerian oil and gas for Europe.

The US pushed its energy "policy"/terrorism to far. Putting sanctions on European companies and countries for investing in pipelines from Russia, blowing up the Iran-deal, the US starting another war in Venezuela-it is enough ! DJ

In Dutch news; more and more hedgehogs in NL and Belgium turn out to be infected by some strange disease. Veterinarians think they can exclude Covid19. Still there are questions on how minks at at least 14 farms did get infected-by trade between the farms ? cats ?

"Mild cases" often have very serious problems after recovery from Covid19. Even after 3 months some 60% may have difficulty with walking.

R0 slowly moving up towards 1 in NL

https://www.moonofalabama.org/2020/06/coronavirus-how-a-german-city-proved-that-wearing-masks-works.html

Peak Prosperity https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7mshxhMHBY

-Global statistics-record new cases, deaths will go up in a few weeks. US-States like California, Texas did not have a peak yet-are still in the first "wave"-concentration in South and Western US cases going up fast.

-Pre/A symptomatic spread is an issue-even with the WHO giving unclear messages.

-Also UK study-masks work ! (PP-in combination with social distancing three months ago it could have prevented most of the pandemic...DJ-HCQ seems to work in most countries in early stages with zinc.....how many thousends of deaths will that take ?)

-Alabama cases clotting issues in young patients 30/40 y/o often with permanent organ damage if not dead

PP gets tired of repeating there is a third way between lock down and reopening and that is reopening the wise way-with masks, social distancing, work/study from home if possible. CM lost his trust in the who, lancet, etc.

DJ-If you compare 2020 with the Spanish Flu 1918-1919 or the economic crash of 1929 there are lots of differences. From 2-3 billion people back then-in an agricultural-in many ways self supporting-society we are now close to 8 billion people-most in urban area's. We have a global logistics network to keep things going-in many ways much more vulnarable.

Also 1918 and 1929 are more than combined in 2020. Both the health and economic damage may be bigger.

DJ-In the last few months several sites came up with scenario's-we managed to get beyond even the worst scenario in lots of ways.

-The Imperial College London came with a study (march I believe) 2.2 million deaths in US, 550.000 in UK if there was no NPI. (By the end of the outbreak) We did get bad managed short NPI that did do a lot of economic damage but only slowed down the spread of Covid 19. Worst scenario by bad choises.

-The already existing political crisis in the US exploded by another police murder of a black suspect (not a saint-the person had a history of drugdeals etc.). There are "groups in power" trying to use protests for their goals with the november elections in their mind.

-"Cold wars" exploding, war in Syria now moving to Libya. Turkey close to war with Greece, Egypt. US versus Russia, China, Iran

-Climate change exploding https://www.wunderground.com/article/safety/hurricane/news/2020-06-11-atlantic-hurricane-season-three-early-tropical-storms

DJ-Another point is the information war. Information is seen as a "good" on wich one makes a profit. The value of info is in advertising-seems to be the idea. With that an "age of stupidity" is just around the corner. Fre information is often propaganda, science-for-sale.

Can we survive this chaos ? Only when we learn from it ! "It does not have to be this way"!

(Somehow what I did write is gone....mmmmmmmmmmmm !)

DJ-June 11 had a record number of new cases https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ almost 138.000 with Brazil and the US making 54.000. Number of deaths topped April 17 with 8435. June 11 had 4951. I expect deaths to go over the april peak in July.

-https://www.zerohedge.com/health/we-dont-need-no-stinking-vaccine-covid-19 DJ-With my very limited knowledge I do believe "we" expect to much from a vaccine. Even with over a 100 different developments worldwide-human trials-it will be at best months before a vacinne can make a difference. The problem is that wath is working; social distancing, masks etc. seems to be hard for most people. For now these Non Pharma Interventions seems to be the only defense we have-keep the spread as low as possible, R0 <1. And if you get infected try to keep the viral load as low as possible and your body defense at the max.

We may have no alternative-China may give some indication that it can be done...

-https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/strait-tensions-soar-taiwan-test-fires-missiles-beijing-sends-warplane, https://www.moonofalabama.org/2020/06/north-korea-laments-failed-deal-with-trump-will-again-test-nukes-and-missiles.html DJ-Many states may see the US in a weak position due to Covid19, a political, economic crisis. The danger can be they push it to far. Besides that destraction me be welcomed by some in the US. In my opinion there are already that many frontlines something has to go wrong sooner or later. Most at risk Middle East/Iran and South China Sea. India-Pakistan, Libya also major risks. (But Covid19 is a problem in Iran, India, Pakistan etc. as well).

-https://www.wunderground.com/cat6/may-2020-earths-warmest-may-on-record , https://www.tropicaltidbits.com/storminfo/ extreme weather events will get more extreme faster.

DJ-With 9% of the global population with diabetes, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epidemiology_of_HIV/AIDS over 40 million HIV infections, TB, Malaria in combination with weather disasters, food shortages Covid19 is just one of many major problems. Each of them make worse the other problems. In my opinion the only way out is a radical change of the way we live. Limit our ecological footprint, we now have a choice in doing so-soon we may find no alternative...

DJ-https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ Friday june 12 did see over 140.000 new tested cases. What does that mean ? An increase in testing capacity. Most likely the tested numbers are only a shadow of reality. Since the virus is now more active in "third world countries" (the idea of "several worlds" is in itself part of the problem) testing is even more a problem then it was a few months back. Anyway-no good news.

https://www.rt.com/news/491706-beijing-new-covid19-hotspot/ In China at least another major outbreak in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beijing (population over 21 million) part of the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jing-Jin-Ji urban region of 112 million people). Let us be realistic-in the US Covid19 is slipping out of control again. I am afraid Europe soon may face another increase as well. There are a few islands that did escape from the Covid19 disaster-partly by being remote and lucky. For the rest of the world it is bad.

One of the problems is "reopening" with the basic idea of being able to go back to were we were in 2019. That is showing to be an illusion. Worldwide the lesson seems to be "reopening is more outbreaks". There is no way back to "the old normal".

In my (DJ) opinion we now urgently have to prepare for one new standard, one goal: survival. We are in the worst food crisis of the at least 50 years-a climate crisis, a financial/economic crisis https://halturnerradioshow.com/index.php/en/news-page/news-nation/federal-debt-tops-26-trillion-for-first-time-jumps-2-trillion-in-just-63-days-unsustainable..

FOOD and WATER are the only goals left-trying to provide safety, security, shelter would be nice. Giving up international airtravel, a lot of tourism, meat means over half of the economy will be needed to be given up. Not one step back but a march back. Just like with the climate crisis-the longer you wait, the higher the costs.

https://www.rt.com/usa/491756-wendys-atlanta-rayshard-brooks/ This most likely does not only mean another wave of (politicized) unrest in the US but worldwide. With (sometimes absurd) overreactions that do not help anyone. I (DJ) am in favour of basic income and basic jobs-if possible one day worldwide. People of all color, background, have basic rights. Jobs help riots do not help. (But maybe the goal is not a solution but chaos ?)

Some people come up with estimates of how many deaths by some day. I fear the megamix-economic, social collapse, a sort of "global civil war" scenario. Maybe millions will not die from Covid19 but of starvation-and not only in Africa-South Asia but also in major cities with broken down logistics.

I can only hope I am to pessimistic "we" somehow can get over it with limited damage. All the colors are between black and white. Our future may be between dystopia and "the old normal". In a part each one of us can make their own decisions on social distancing, planting a (food)garden, being friendly....

DJ-A number of M5/M6 earthquakes near Japan at USGS, http://www.thebigwobble.org/2020/06/boogaloo-civil-war-we-are-watching.html "Arab Spring" scenario for "the west" ?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4zfWkvbBaw Fructose and Covid19-Medcram update 83-good info ! (Also explains why US, Brazil have a problem-high fructose syrip in food products are linked with diabetes and obesity)

DJ,

-The second wave for China (still part of the global first wave-since this is a PANdemic-global) so far close to 500 new cases in Bejing, several in the region linked to Bejing. https://news.cgtn.com/news/2020-06-15/Beijing-reports-36-new-confirmed-COVID-19-cases-RkOhq4GMCs/index.html

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ DJ-Some countries may slow down testing and try to create an image they have the outbreak under control.

-In NL https://www.dutchnews.nl/news/2020/06/nearly-600000-mink-killed-in-fur-farm-coronavirus-cull/ . DJ-We most likely did not yet see all of the story. A-Since https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fur_farming is spread over many countries why only an outbreak in the NL ? B-Newest cases most discovered by farms sending in dead animals-then it is found out they were infected with Covid19. C-It still is not very clear how the virus spread to several farms-sometimes 20 kilometers away from eachother. If it was nearby thewind could blow virusparts, cats may play a role. Since hedgehogs suffer from a "mysterious disease" (official story-no link with Covid19), rabbits, ferrits could be infected-foxes that eat dead animals may play a role in further spread ?

https://nltimes.nl/2020/06/13/netherlands-3-eu-countries-sign-covid-19-vaccine-deal-astrazeneca-icu-cases-rise

DJ-It would be nice if a vaccine could make a major difference, come in time-before 2021-large scale-and provide long lasting protection. It may be not realistic to expect such a miracle....till then it would be wise to go for NPI. Keeping those needing care in isolation for months-while reopening restaurants air travel "for the healthy" becomes injustice.

-https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/escobar-russia-aiming-realize-greater-eurasia-dream DJ-By making China "enemy #1" Russia gets more room. The EU may be willing to "get in between" Russia, China, India to make deals with Asia (and its over 4 billion consumers).

DJ-In Germany another church related outbreak https://www.dw.com/en/german-church-at-the-center-of-over-100-coronavirus-cases/a-53804687 pushed the R0 to 1.09 on Sunday. I am not religious but I believe in religious rights, right to assemble-in most countries a legal basis to limit those rights is not very well organized. (For good reasons).

-https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/chinese-scientist-escorted-out-canadian-biolab-sent-deadlhy-viruses-wuhan and https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/canadian-scientist-sent-deadly-viruses-to-wuhan-lab-months-before-rcmp-asked-to-investigate-1.5609582 DJ-A Chinese scientist working in a Canadian bio-lab did send (most likely with some permission) deadly virusses to Wuhan. The Wuhan-lab contacted the Winnipeg Lab on how to transport the virus-otherwise the virus would be packed by Canada-in an unsafe way. Not related-itself-with the present Covid19 pandemic, but how does international transport of deadly virus from lab to lab go ? Are there no rules ? Who can decide on what virus goes were ?

-Yesterday I (DJ) put a link to https://news.cgtn.com/news/2020-06-15/Beijing-reports-36-new-confirmed-COVID-19-cases-RkOhq4GMCs/index.html (China Global Television Network=CGTN) in wich China mentiones 500 new cases in Bejing-I did not hear that number in western reporting. https://news.cgtn.com/news/2020-06-16/Chinese-mainland-reports-40-new-COVID-19-cases-27-of-them-in-Beijing--RmrhwVdy6s/index.html and https://news.cgtn.com/news/2020-06-16/Beijing-in-critical-situation-with-coronavirus-prevention-Officials-Rmv05H0PzG/index.html (and https://news.cgtn.com/news/2020-06-15/Xi-China-ready-to-strengthen-anti-pandemic-cooperation-with-the-Laos-Rlwjdoai2I/index.html) before we get another round of "China is lying" on CGTN my impression is "they are not more lying than most western media" (may have copied the way of reporting from the west for a western audience.)

The outbreak itself is shocking-at least I hoped China would set an example of getting Covid19 under some sort of control. With these numbers getting this new Bejing-outbreak under control may take-at least-some weeks.

-In NL https://www.dutchnews.nl/news/2020/06/lock-down-easing-and-carelessness-are-driving-the-key-r-number-up/.. -For that matter-if you believed pulling over statues was new https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beeldenstorm it goes back to old Egypt, ancient Rome...not new at all. DJ-https://www.moonofalabama.org/2020/06/belarus-a-us-sponsored-color-revolution-is-underway.html DJ-In 1995 a "union"of Russia, Belarus and Serbia did become one of the reasons for the Yogoslavia-wars. US/NATO intervention in Belarus is "not welcome". Not only for Russia-also western EU countries do not like the idea of a second Ukraine-US made-disaster. (DJ-Another "F..k the EU" from the US would widen the gap. Trump pulling out US forces from Germany-is welcomed by most Germans-seen as punishment for the Russian-German North Stream 1 and 2 pipelines. Putting those 9000 US troops in Poland (ruled by a catholic fanatic) is not "popular" both in the EU and Russia.)

https://halturnerradioshow.com/index.php/en/news-page/world/clash-twenty-indian-soldiers-killed-in-border-clash-with-china, https://halturnerradioshow.com/index.php/en/news-page/world/taiwan-jets-drive-away-intruding-chinese-fighter-plane-third-intrusion-in-days and https://halturnerradioshow.com/index.php/en/news-page/news-nation/north-korean-army-bombs-liaison-office-used-with-the-south-refuses-to-answer-military-hotline

DJ-What do a lot of "leaders" do facing problems at home they can not solve ? Start a war somewere else...this may be a very bad idea.

https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/gtwo.php?basin=atlc&fdays=5 and https://www.tropicaltidbits.com/storminfo/ DJ-Increase of activity.

Peak Prosperity https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnS4MbRribw ;

-Statistics-, outcome ratio 9% death-91% suvival

-also barbershop prevented an outbreak-with two infected employees-wearing face masks. Dr.Fauci-masks were needed in care so we did not support masks in early stages (DJ-also in most other countries-better response would have been increase production of masks)

-Seattle Covid19 survivor gets 181 pges-1.1 milion $ bill (DJ-Insane !)

-Dexamethasone can reduce fatalities from 40% to 28% PP-with that kind of percentages you have been doing something wrong from the beginning. HCQ experiences international has fatalities <1% PP Idea itself months old-M-part of MATH+protocol, Methylprednisolone

-NY-times article on Vitamin D-"mixed results" while the article itself describes cheap supplement offers major protection-very difficult to overdose.

-Pepcid also can do good-cheap easy access (DJ-bad for big pharma-not enough profit)

-From min44 conclusions; FDA goes for "new expensive drugs" instead of cheap old ones. Immunity with antibodies for two months (DJ-Since this is a new virus-we only have to wait to see how long antibodies can provide immunity-antibody-treatment would be one way of dealing with Covid19) Plant a garden-the FED is making things much worse by creating trillions of US$ and push that to the rich. Tax payers have to pay for that-rich people hardly pay tax-(DJ-worldwide.)

DJ-The Asia-crisis;

https://southfront.org/sticks-stones-and-death-in-galwan-valley/, https://news.cgtn.com/news/2020-06-17/Tensions-escalate-between-India-Pakistan-after-clashes-over-Kashmir--RoDoU8gCRi/index.html, https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/world-war-when-china-india-north-korea-south-korea-israel-turkey-all-move-toward and https://thesaker.is/foreign-minister-sergey-lavrovs-statement-and-answers-to-media-questions-at-a-joint-news-conference-following-talks-with-minister-of-foreign-affairs-of-iran-mohammad-javad-zarif-moscow-june/

Due to the corona crisis demand for oil and gas now is very limited, putting oil-exporting countries with major budget difficulties. The largest energy importer-China-only can profit from lower energyprices to a certain limit. A new major outbreak-on top of a lot of the economy still not fully functioning-did see a sharp drop in China's energy demand. They also have a lot of long term energy contracts.

The US foreign policy is-basicly-such a disaster the US is on the sidelines in much of what is happening in (Eur)Asia. There are several conflicts escalating. Most of the countries involved have major difficulties with Covid19;

-In North Korea there may be a powerstruggle between Kim Jong Un and his younger sister Kim Yo Jong. With Yo Jong pushing for extremism, Jong Un more interested in a "China model" for North Korea. (Rapid economic development based on Russian, Chinese, South Korean and limited other (India ? Most likely NOT Japan-the hate against Japan unites Korea) investments.

DJ-Very dangerous, major chance of miscommunications. In the past NK did blow up a South Korean cabinet. Cutting (all) direct lines of communication makes de-escalation harder. China, Russia may be able to get some control. Kim Jong Un "may have to deal with his sister himself".

-China AND Pakistan-versus India. The latest China-India clash may have seen over 20 India, over 43 China military dead. Since the basis for this incident may have been miscommunication on the side of China https://community.defconwarningsystem.com/forums/military-events.6/ there may be some room for deescalation. One of the basics for the conflict is that both China and India are expected to have a larger economy than the US before 2030. Both import energy want to have a part of the (Eur)Asian market. Besides that Modi (and some extremists) in India has an anti-Islam policy-bringing further tensions with Pakistan. Also Kashmir-border conflict is decades old and involves India, Pakistan AND China.

-Iran has had talks with Turkey (supporting Turkey in Libya and against Kurds in Iraq) and Russia. Russia is trying to stay in control of some developments. There seems to be also a powerstruggle between Moscow and Bejing. (Lower energy demand gives China room to make more deals with other countries than Russia. Iran, Malaysia, Indonesia, Venezuela etc. are also interested in energy deals with China). Russia is pushing its EurAsian Economic Union, China pushing the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (and a lot of countries are willing to make deals with both).

-Israels plans to annex the West Bank would mean war with Jordan, Egypt etc. (It is a stupid-US-plan). Most likely Netanyahu is "playing with such an (insane) plan to see if he can make some deals somewere. Israel had good relations both with the US and Russia. The US is unable to be of much use for Israel on the long term-most Arab countries did lose trust in the US. Inside Israel there are voices for better relations-an eye for shared interests-energy, water.

-The (western) EU is interested in energy from both Russia and Iran. (DJ-One of the "strenghts of the EU is the lack of unity"-there seems to be room for flexebility. Another factor keeping the EU-in some form-united is US foreign policy. And a third factor is "shared mistakes" like the Euro. We can not step back that easely.) Most of the EU seems to have some grip on the Covid19-outbreak. Most of the EU is "not happy"with "developments"in the US (BLM, Covid19) and most certainly not happy with US insults (US telling the EU if they can go for 5G from China, energy from Russia or Iran-putting sanctions on https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/us-suspends-talks-europe-digital-tax-threatens-tariffs "(US) digital products")

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ DJ-Today we will see 8,5 million Covid-tested cases. A lot of cases in South Asia. Also locust http://www.thebigwobble.org/2020/06/manic-may-locust-swarms-expand.html causing majot food issues.

DJ-There is a mega-mix of illnesses, climate change, refugees (etc) wich put countries on a maximum stress test. More and more local/regional answers will have to solve problems-global logistics is under pressure. Also less income means less market for expensive (often western) goods.

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.

DJ-Part 2 (since so much is going on)

-https://www.express.co.uk/news/world/1296797/China-news-xi-jinping-eastern-Europe-belt-and-road-plan-Serbia-coronavirus There are some questions on what the Bejing-virus outbreak is ? Imported via European salmon ? https://news.cgtn.com/news/2020-06-18/Chinese-mainland-reports-28-new-COVID-19-cases-21-in-Beijing-RpMjrnKqhq/index.html

The express-article claims China is trying to break up the EU-and has a picture of non-EU Serbia. https://news.cgtn.com/news/2020-06-18/Xi-Jinping-s-key-quotes-at-summit-on-COVID-19-cooperation-with-Africa-Rq7CLc2YCc/index.html China is using its knowledge on how to deal with Covid19 as an export-product. Of course that means; 1-A new major outbreak in China does not "sell the product" very well, 2-No free aid-China wants somehow something in return-this could also be in "better relations", support for China in the UN, support for China towards Taiwan, South-China-Sea.

Another "China issue" is Korea https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yanbian_Korean_Autonomous_Prefecture While there is no (real) border dispute between China and North Korea after 1945 lots of Koreans moved north in an area between Korea and the Russian border.

https://www.almasdarnews.com/article/china-calls-on-india-to-stop-provocative-activities-along-disputed-border/ and https://www.almasdarnews.com/article/chinese-military-suffers-losses-in-deadly-battle-with-indian-forces/ DJ-Both India and China know very well they have nothing to gain by a war.

On the background https://www.rt.com/op-ed/492180-johnson-israel-trump-palestine/ Are countries preparing for a Biden-presidency ?

A cynical view of recent North Korea moves could be North Korea wants regional investments in a high-speed-rail connection between Beijing, Vladivostok an Pyong Yang (further to Seoul, Busan) ? Or they will go on on confrontation-road ? Sort of diplomatic blackmail ? (DJ-I am speculating-but the Kim-dynasty may be tricky enough to play the hard way. Maybe they want to force South Korea away from the US ? The US now divided by elections, protests and Covid19. There is always the question if North Korea is playing the "hard China foreign policy-game".) https://www.almasdarnews.com/article/north-korea-threatens-to-turn-south-into-sea-of-fire/

-The EU https://www.dw.com/en/coronavirus-over-600-people-test-positive-at-german-slaughterhouse/a-53846038 is not out of grip from Covid19. https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/sweden-says-herd-immunity-surprisingly-slow-develop-despite-avoiding-lockdowns Most memberstates can use the EU to get a stronger position in dealings outside the EU. Allthough Chinese help is welcome, Russian oil/gas is welcome-the EU (and even NATO) can help to limit the price memberstates have to pay. https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/floundering-nato-tries-surface-confronting-china (DJ-Diplomacy is a balancing act. The EU is not a strong military power-and not very likely in ever becoming one-so we "have to make deals" all the time.)

-https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/floundering-nato-tries-surface-confronting-china and https://www.almasdarnews.com/article/turkish-and-iranian-forces-team-during-new-operation-in-iraq/ DJ-Both Turkey and Iran may want to limit their "good relations" with other powers-not get to much dependent. A TIP-Turkey-Iran-Pakistan block may become a major factor.

Pakistan would welcome Iran, Turkey support against India, Turkey may need Iran, Pakistan support in the mediterranean and Arab world-Iran needs both to keep trade with both China, the EU and Africa.

-Another blow for the US is Mexico. https://southfront.org/another-crack-appears-in-us-sanctions-mexican-president-offers-to-sell-petroleum-to-venezuela/.. In recent years-with higher demand and oil prices the US became the #1 oil producer-not all other producers were happy with that. The US is now trying to dominate the global energy market but could not stop Iran from sending 5 tankers to Venezuela. (China is a major invester in Venezuela. US blocked raffinery-soon China may restart Venezuela oil production).

DJ The BBC did take a look at access deaths https://www.bbc.com/news/world-53073046?at_custom1=%5Bpost+type%5D&at_medium=custom7&at_custom2=facebook_page&at_custom3=BBC+News&at_custom4=EFAB270A-B14F-11EA-9C1D-0614FDA12A29&at_campaign=64&fbclid=IwAR2e9WQ5TgvcRD2OGJs3hsOa1gMJkRld_d6z0Lxjy6djtFBU3-Ex36s0O90 conclusion the real number of deaths due to Covid19 was 130.000 plus a few days ago. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ daily increase of tested cases is between 140.000 and 150.000 last few days. Increase of tested deaths is over 5000 per day. Both are just the tip of the iceberg-very limited/no testing or reporting from Latin America, Africa. Some states still in denial.

-https://www.moonofalabama.org/2020/06/why-the-chinese-indian-skirmishes-may-escalate.html DJ-India now facing THREE borderconflicts, with Pakistan, China and Nepal. There is China-Russia coordination-I do not doubt that. Both Russia and China may have agreed to give North Korea "room" for a more agressive stand-goal is maximum pressure on South Korea to "kick out the US".

https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/more-details-are-emerging-about-india-china-border-clash and https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/cause-tension-between-china-and-india The MoA-article has a strategic point-the conflict partly is over the land-link between Pakistan and China. Of course also water is an issue. From the MoA comments; India has no chance in case of a real conflict with both Pakistan AND China. (No doubt in such a scenario other conflicts, Nepal, Bangla Desh, Myamar/Burma also will explode-India itself has over 200 million muslims-treated as garbage by the Modi-extremists. In a more serious conflict India itself may break up.) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arunachal_Pradesh another China-India conflict area is more to the east.

Although limited use https://community.defconwarningsystem.com/forums/military-events.6/ (Very US oriented tunnel vision in wich everyone loves the US-"China has no friends"etc.) Hal Turner puts his info behind a paywall (often his info comes from defcon etc. no "secrets") https://kashmir.liveuamap.com/ also often running behind the facts.

https://www.almasdarnews.com/article/egypt-and-ethiopia-are-on-the-verge-of-war-over-water-media/ Water is a reason for war-certainly in days of climate change. The China-India conflict is also about water.

https://iraq.liveuamap.com/ some reports on https://www.almasdarnews.com/article/syrian-army-sends-large-number-of-reinforcements-to-raqqa-after-turkish-backed-attack/ increased pressure from Turkey and Syria/Iran on Syrian Kurds.

The dream of a Kurdish State in Iraq, Syria and (most in) Turkey failed by a lack of vision and leadership from the Kurdish side. There was room to negotiate-instead of doing so Kurdish leaders did make deals with the US and Israel. Their goal was to use the Kurds-NOT a Kurdish State. In the past Russia did show some sympathy (most during the Soviet era-for the same reasons the US shows sympathy now-divide and rule). Soon the "old scenario"-still in effect in Turkey-will be back in Iraq and Syria. Kurds at best allowed to have their own language-as a minority in an Arab state.

Peak Prosperity in what may be most a US story-as a reminder almost 96% of the global population is NOT US ! Elections may be an important issue-in the short term in Poland (now ruled by catholic extremists-opposition is more pro-EU, Euro could be on the agenda. If Poland would accept the Euro/€ it makes the € more an alternative for the US$.) Also in Belarus-were MoA did report a CIA try for a "slipper-revolution" against Lukashenko.

The world may have lost patience with Trump. If "this man" gets reelected the US may become a global outsider. Biden is not a much better alternative-has to deal with a lot of damage. (From the Irandeal, Paris climatedeal, to oil, healthcare (the US lack of basic public healthcare is a global risk). More and more people doubt the democracy in the not very United States. More US sanctions and agression will be very unwelcome.

DJ;

-https://www.moonofalabama.org/2020/06/coronavirus-the-us-has-given-up.html and https://www.zerohedge.com/health/who-chief-pandemic-accelerating-warns-new-dangerous-phase Some sidenotes; the more you test the more likely it is you will find cases. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#countries Over 180.000 new tested cases is in my opinion what you may expect-and only as the top of the iceberg. The only defense we have is NPI-social distancing, masks-if you are not willing to use those defenses you give the virus all the room to explode.

With most likely very limited immunity-maybe a few months, no vaccines (at best one can think of a vaccination one may need every two/three months) and the virus spreading now in "poor countries" with a younger population and lots of other healthissues the virus-on the short term (coming two years ?) will become deadlier-start an avalange of other crises.

The only control we have is lock downs, masks etc. if we choose not to use them the virus is out of control-it is very simple.

-Hey I did lose much of what I was writing here !!!!!

In short;

China and Pakistan may go for a limited war with India over Kashmir. India made itself impossible by anti Islam policies and putting the China Pakistan Economic Corridor under pressure.  Also control of Asia watersupply-via the Himalaya-may be interesting. China-India border issue goes back to early 20th century when British India made a deal with Tibet. Pakistan-India conflict goes back to 1947.  India will have to take steps to de-escalate. Russia may be willing to help with that-but strategic partnership with China goes before long term friendship with India.

North Korea may go for the China model-with Chinese companies investing in NK in stead of South Korean ones. SK had a choice to make clear they were willing to do deals with NK, China-instead they choose US drills. So now they pay for that. SK companies will not be happy about it-Asia market is the future-not the US.

https://iraq.liveuamap.com/ Turkey keeps pushing Iraq Kurds. Message to Syria Kurds is clear. I expect another Assad offer for the SDF to become part of the SAA-government army (or face destruction by NATO member Turkey-also willing to deal with NATO members blocking them in Syria or Iraq).

Heatwave in NL-some models go for 35C/100F in NW Europe coming thursday. Very unuseal. And http://arctic-news.blogspot.com/2020/06/2020-siberian-heatwave-continues.html

https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2020-06-19/former-fed-insider-says-dollar-will-lose-reserve-currency-status You can not create money out of nowere without consequences.

DJ Are we close to an End of Live Event ? Yes-but we still have choices. De-escalation of politics-there is no military solution.

carbon20-This laptop will be 5 years old-I am of a generation that had (old) phones for over 20 years...

But maybe yes-one day a new clever laptop-I talk-lap top writes without any mistakes !

Serious-What went lost was about India-border issue. https://community.defconwarningsystem.com/threads/indian-chinese-troops-clash-near-naku-la-in-sikkim-sector.14034/page-8 and https://kashmir.liveuamap.com/ as links.

Russia-Iran-China (RIC and TIP) Turkey-Iran-Pakistan seem to be in a coordinated offensive from the Arctic to India, Belarus to North Korea.  https://www.almasdarnews.com/article/indian-and-pakistani-forces-exchange-heavy-fire-along-disputed-border/ and https://www.almasdarnews.com/article/indian-army-mass-deploys-troops-to-disputed-border-after-battle-with-chinese-military-video/

They do not want to start World War 3 but also are tired of the US supporting jihadi's in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Iran-sending them over to Russia and China. https://southfront.org/foreign-jihadists-in-greater-idlib-stress-support-to-hts-in-new-statement/..

The western media seems blind for the economics of IS and alqueida. They are sponsored by wahabist-Gulf States, air lifted by the CIA. "War on terror" as a welcome excuse for interventions and oil grabs. NATO has become the North Atlantic Terrorist Organization and a lot of military are not happy with that !

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soylent_Green This story plays in 2022-how accurate ! Carbon20-another 50 years-you are very optimistic ! http://arctic-news.blogspot.com/2020/03/2c-crossed.html Based on this story we only would have a few years left-could be more realistic than we like. http://www.thebigwobble.org/2020/06/early-wildfires-are-raging-across.html

From the frontlines; https://www.almasdarnews.com/article/us-threatens-uae-with-sanctions-if-they-help-syria/ (Does the US not have enough enemies already ?). https://www.almasdarnews.com/article/another-iranian-ship-is-en-route-to-venezuela-despite-us-warnings/ DJ-Among others-no doubt-Mexico is willing to sell oil products to Venezuela. Most likely-with this drop in demand Equador-maybe even the UK, Canada willing to sell oil to Venezuela !

https://www.almasdarnews.com/article/us-to-test-f-35-jet-against-russian-s-400-system-in-syria-media/ US and Russian fighters did fight eachother above Korea, Viet Nam-"the good old days are back again"-DJ-I simply do not get why Trump did not pull out US forces out of these endless Middle East Wars. These wars have cost trillions and only damage the US.

https://southfront.org/prospects-of-ukrainian-army-offensive-on-donetsk-and-lugansk-peoples-republic/ No doubt US would like to see conservative catholics win in Poland. They support US support for IS and neo-nazi-scum fighting for Kiev in Ukraine. Also this conservatives would support the "slipper revolution" in Belarus. If "normal people" win the coming Polish election that support is gone-Poland may get the Euro-go pro EU.

https://southfront.org/north-korea-sends-troops-ships-to-border-as-more-attention-grabbing-explosive-displays-loom/ No links this time from the Arctic or India-frontlines.

Corona-front https://www.zerohedge.com/political/london-mayor-mandatory-masks-will-be-new-normal-least-another-year DJ-Realism has to tell we will be in this pandemic for months-most likely even longer. The statistics-bad as they are-create a false image of only tested cases.

Tabitha111-I once learned "computering" with WordStar-that came before WordPerfect. People were programming in BASIC with C30 casette tapes. First internet via telephonelines-crazy beeps-just 20-30 years ago. No talent for computers...  but I can live with that...

A lot of US people are not happy with the US/Brazil comparison https://www.history.com/news/confederacy-in-brazil-civil-war still after 1865 over 10.000 confederates moved-often to Brazil (in those days-just like Mexico ruled by an Emperor). Slavery would last till 1888 in Brazil-slavery in Brazil was much harder-a slave was "written of" in sometimes just three years-working till death. A lot of US slaves did have a better life-after slavery ended life expectency dropped-no freedom but "contracted labor". (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confederate_war_finance#Debt_finance the CSA did sell warbonds in the UK and NL).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brazil#Race_and_ethnicity "Afro-Brazilians" are even less represented in politics than in the US eventhough almost half of Brasilians are "of color". https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/may/20/black-americans-death-rate-covid-19-coronavirus One of the many reasons for the high death-rate in Brazil is the de facto "apartheid"-people of color are as good as always poor-with no access to healthcare.

One major difference is the US has the deathpenalty and over 25% of all the prisoners in the world. Brazil prisons are "hell" but the number of Brazillians in prison will be (much) lower than the (if I do get that right) 0.6% of US citizens in prison. (Prisons are a good place for spreading all kind of diseases).

-https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/coronavirus-was-found-italys-sewage-early-last-december DJ-Again the question were did the virus come from and when did it show up the first time ?

DJ-Taking a look at https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#countries of the 8.9 million tested cases the US has 2.3 million, Brazil 1.1 million cases-these two countries make up for close to 40% of all tested cases. Also in the number of deaths these two countries get close to 40% of all deaths.

Why ?

Both countries are reopening in the middle of an outbreak and do enough testing to get these results. But do Russia, India, Pakistan test less ? When you look at the cases per million the numbers in these two countries are slowly also falling out of line.

Again why ?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brazil and the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States may have a lot in common. Even with a non-white majority Brazil is run by a white elite. Most of the wealth in the US is concentrated with a small group. The economic inbalance is quite extreme. But not that much different from some other Latin American countries. Access to healthcare in these two countries is far below European, developed nation, standard. Most likely the number of "people of color" in both cases and deaths are (far) overrepresented.

Denial of care to ethnic groups out of "capitalist"ideology is still genocide. Both countries did end slavery in the 19th century-but did not do a repair"job" that is showing up now.

-Looking at tested cases-and "expectations" other Latin America, Arab World, South Asia (with India also a lot of inequality) and Africa numbers-most very likely not tested-are also exploding. https://www.zerohedge.com/personal-finance/when-will-life-return-normal-Life will not "go back to normal" the coming months-and that may be even optimistic.

-A good story on the India-China conflict https://news.cgtn.com/news/2020-06-20/Violence-on-the-Chinese-Indian-border-Why-now-and-what-next--Rt7re1UMjm/index.html In India now the Janaty party-Hindu nationalist-is in power. They get funds-in part-from India workers in the US. Their nationalistic policies were supported by Trump-with the coming elections that support may be gone. The Congres party in India always had good relations with the Soviet Union/Russia. If the Janata-party wanted to "reach some goals" it was "now or never"-one of those goals would be stopping Pakistan from prospering of the cooperation with China. But since both Pakistan and China need this cooperation India ended up in a conflict escalation with both. The last four decades China and India managed to keep the borderconflict peacefull most of the time.

DJ-Most of that time Pakistan was a US partner, China and India were more or less in balance with military strenght. That has changed; 1-Pakistan and China are allies, 2-Russia is "not happy"with the Janata Hindu-nationalists, 3-China did develop much faster and now has a strategic partnership with Russia. 4-Trump will NOT start World War 3 for India.

The only way out for India is start working with China (via Russia). Further Indian escalation can mean China, Pakistan (and some other countries that are tired of the anti-Islam policy from India) go for military action to unable India putting the New Silk Road in danger.

Modi's visit to Israel, US support for India, second after US aid for Israel-does not give "a good signal" to the most Muslim southern part of Asia.

In a war scenario Kashmir may be the Pakistan-Vhina target in the west of India, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assam/East India may be Myamar/Bangla Desh/China target in the east of India. (And then there are also islands on wich Indonesia may put a claim a.o.).

How likely is such a war-scenario ? Re-election of Trump-then restarting an anti-China (and anti-Muslim) policy may bring this kind of scenario much closer as being possible. Certainly when India would not stop provocating the 1.3 billion Chinese and over 1 billion Muslim-citizens in (South)Asia the outlook is not good.

Of course such a war would be dramatic in lives lost, spread of suffering, refugees etc.

-Yesterday I complained about my (5 y/o) laptop. Brings me to another inbalance. While the speed of electronics/ICT goes that fast most people are unable to follow that-a new generation starts in a new world-spending on housing, education, other infra structure, healthcare often did not move with the same speed.

In India there are more mobile phones than toilets. Most countries have a housing problem-with groups of people living on the street often growing. Getting an education is more and more privatized or ends you up in debts (causing further problems for housing, healthcare).

"Politics" stepped back, "the market" would do the job. But the market goes for profits not for well being of all. And there is a lot of profit in telling people they need another phone every year, lap tops that are "old" in just two years. There is less profit in long lasting goods/products.

Going for a "unlimited market economy" is damaging healthcare, giving you less chance of a good education, housing. The part you might save for that will go up on "techno-goodies" (and profits for their producers).

I do believe there is something like "electronic polution". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwyDCHf5iCY&t=10s is a good-long-presentation of those risks. Or in  short https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ky_2vuWN9jU.. Also social people are watching their mobile phones as if they do not want to be were they are all the time.

Are we in control-if not who is ?

DJ-We are in the worst case scenario of this pandemic. The best case would have the virus gone away with rising temperatures-never realistic. A less worse case scenario would have seen regional-limited outbreaks on several spots on the globe-also was very unrealistic.

Next would be a pandemic that would soon have some sort of group-immunity, do little economic damage-"bring the world together in peacefull harmony in a joint fight against the virus". The opposite is what we have now-countries engage conflicts, the virus out of control, with some group of people-the poor-being that much harder. Economies crashing and countries also facing increased tensions within their borders.

Can it get worse ? "Yes we can"! Climate change has so much more tricks, the food crisis is only starting, other illnesses-next to Covid19-are for the moment under control-but lots of vaccination campains did stop, lots of treatments for chronic illnesses etc stopped-the effects soon will show.

In the most dangerous conflict the fighting is in words, blowing up empty buildings (Korea) or kicking each other from mountaintops (India-China). A lot of other wars are around the corner.

(DJ-I am now thinking-shall I include a lot of links-make a very long story no one can read ? Or a shorter summery-with less links ? Maybe later on do the extra's-I choose the latter.)

-Yesterday I was talking on Brazil/US similarities-both major slave-states in the 19th century, now this population divide is showing up in Covid19 cases. What is the difference between these two countries and a lot of other countries in similar economic situations ?

-In Europe and many other countries public healthcare is the norm. If you out of work there is-often- a (far from perfect) other form of income. Most of the time you do not have to go to your job when you are ill. Maybe working from home is better organized in some countries. (If countries see these "systematic weaknesses" and fail to correct them in time-leading to access deaths in certain groups of their own population in my opinion you get very close to "genocide").

Of course there are "weak spots" in other countries. Public housing was not a priority in many countries-overcrowded bad houses during a lock down in warm temperatures are "not a joy". We see a lot of clusters (following the PP "case-case-cluster-cluster-boom"scenario) in a.o. Germany, France.

The most dangerous jobs are done by foreign workers-often in bad housing/transport conditions and with little or no medical care. A day not at work for them is a day without income. Most countries see the danger. Here in NL there is government intervention at all three places; housing, transport and workplace. Still a lot of these clusters may go "under the radar".

In Germany both bad social housing (Göttingen) and meat production (Guttersloh) in combination with church-outbreaks push the R0 close to 3.

-Egypt is preparing for a waterwar with Ethiopia (they are building a dam in the Blue Nile-leaving not enough water for Egypt) and intervention in Libya/war with Turkey. Egypt does not want a Muslim Brotherhood government in Libya-with Turkey supporting that regime for oil/gas.

-Russia can try to mediate both in the India/China and Korea conflict. But there is limited room in both cases. South Korea did not show much willingness to "create room for Korean cooperation"-SK sticked to the US. India basicly doing the same-putting pressure on the New Silk Road/China-Pakistan-Economic-Corridor. With both India and South Korea not moving at best Russia can try to delay war. At worst they could join China and go for confrontation.

There is only a point in talking when the one you are talking with has some sanity. When that partner is attacking you in all indirect ways it can, blaming you for all that goes wrong-there may come a point were talking stops.

If you believe you have all kind of "new" weapons, from cyber war to hypersonic planes/missiles the military option-maybe even on a large scale-may be tempting.

-Israel has no intentions for better relations with Iran. By the intention of annexation of the West Bank it is pushing Jordan close to war. Jordan is a very mixed country-a civil war can easily erupt under pressure. There is tension over water, energy in the region. Another US/Israeli attack on Iranian positions in Syria can become the explosion that starts another major conflict here.

-Latin American countries voted a few years back in majority to include Cuba in their meetings. The US is-again- supporting fascist dictators. China is interested in investing in Latin America. An other Iran tanker is on its way to Venezuela with oil-Mexico a.o. others is also willing to export oil-but that ship also has spare parts to get Venezuela refinneries working again.

Sinking that ship means US positions in the Middle East being attacked. China is a major share holder in Venezuelan oil. China will not welcome such an attack (and in the present international climate could sink a US tanker "by accident").

-I did not look at the Congo-ebola situation, how the locusts are eating East Africa, SW Asia food supplies, or measless is doing, malaria, TB. We have a diabetes pandemic, obesity pandemic, AIDS/HIV pandemic...and "political "leaders" (???) holding mass gatherings in the middle of a large deadly pandemic...

-By July 1 we will be over 10.000.000 tested cases, 500.000 tested deaths worldwide. Those statistics do not even start to reflect the economic damage it does.

DJ-Can we survive this ? Maybe the worst case scenario would be "no", with next best "islands of sanity". I did have hope for the EU, China. New Zealand, Iceland may be doing fine with Covid19 but need the rest of the world for their well being. Soon inter-continental airtravel will restart-politics want to safe airlines. (Airline companies did spread the virus and owe us a compensation for doing so-politics is making you pay them in stead-putting tax payers money in spreading diseases around the globe.)

As always-I hope I am wrong. I did not mention climate change yet-most likely even worse than all the rest....

https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/florida-nears-100k-mark-us-reports-largest-jump-daily-covid-19-cases-7-weeks-live ;

Update (1740ET): Building on Dr. Tedros's warning that the global outbreak was "accelerating", the WHO has reported the largest single-day increase in virus infections by its count, at more than 183,000 new cases in the last 24 hours. Brazil saw the biggest spike, contributing a stunning 54,771 cases, a new record daily total for any country, eclipsing the record 49k daily total reported out of the US back in April. With daily totals at or near record highs in more than a dozen states, the US was the second-largest contributor with 36,617.

Since the outbreak began, the WHO has counted a total of 8,708,008 cases and 461,715 deaths worldwide, with a daily increase of 4,743 deaths in the past day (which is, thankfully, well below the peak level from April). However, more than two-thirds of these new deaths were reported in the Americas.

In other news, Mexico hit a new record with 50% of the cases tested in the last 24 hours coming back positive as Mexico has become the second-worst outbreak in Latin America.

As we noted a day ago, Germany's reproduction rate has been on the rise in the past few weeks. After ticking slightly higher during the opening weeks of Germany's reopening, the reproduction rate - known as "R0" or just "R" - a critical metric aiming to measure the average number of infections caused by each carrier, which is representative of the virus's rate of spread. The 7-day average rate for "R", which is a critical metric in the eyes of Germany's public health officials at the Robert Koch Institute, climbed to 2.88 on Sunday after a daily reading of 2.03 on Sunday. The RKI stressed that the increases were mainly due to local outbreaks in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, where more than 1,300 meat processing plant workers tested positive in what has been one of the country's biggest clusters.

As we noted earlier, California’s new cases rose by a record on Sunday and Florida infections jumped more than the weekly average, though not quite surpassing the record daily total set yesterday, the latest evidence of a possible resurgence in the sun belt states as the number of cases reported in the US increased by 1.2% on Sunday to 2,275,000.

Tabitha111, thanks for your feedback.

DJ-Some countries were doing well-Iceland, New Zealand, South Korea-now see an increase of cases after less restrictions. Importing cases is a big problem-with summer hollidays on their way we will most likely also see an increase of cases in the tourism hotspots of Europe.

Covid 19 in many ways is developing into a (in statistics) urban disease. New York, Moscow, Jakarta, New Delhi, London, Seoul-a good plan to deal with Covid19 is often not there. NPI have limited use when people are living on top of each other. Air-systems work for all of the houses-specialy with the coming heatwave(s). Peaple share elevators-use small corridors in their appartmentbuildings (or hotels).

Cities are also the place to turn to when you are out of a job-better chances for getting another chance. In many countries poor people are concentrated in the cities-richer people live in suburbia. The country side often has limited job oppertunities, housing etc.

-In the Netherlands two more mink-farms have Covid19 in their minks-one of them the largest in NL. All the minks will be killed and destroyed. Politics fail to decide on wether these mink-farms can restart raising minks till 2024 when this activity has to stop. DJ-I do not believe NL is the only country with now 17 farms with infected minks. Underreporting for economic reasons seems to be widespread.

Support for Covid19-restrictions is decreasing. A lot of people do not look beyond their own city/region. In a certain way are spoiled-expect everything to go back the way it was before Covid19. Just like in the climate change discussion-they can not see it-so "it is not there". If these groups have the majority of the votes fighting a pandemic can be very hard-government parties claim the did "beat the virus" under control.

-Underreporting, China, Spain, Austria, Italy being blamed for lack of in time information (in Europe related to tourism, wintersports) most likely did not stop. Almost all countries still have some sort of problems with testing. If there are enough tests it is unclear who can get tested, who pays for it. Also often results-sometimes incorrect (not all tests are good)-take to much time to be of much use.

Limiting testing to bring statistics down (and claim victory) is a risks in countries with elections on the agenda. (US, Poland, many other countries within 1 year.)

-Wars

From east to west, I have no news on Korea-yet but deescalation not very likely. India and China gave their military permission to use fire arms in the Himalaya border conflicts. Iran will do more to protect their ships in the Indian Ocean from a new Iran Navy point in southern Iran.

In Idlib NW Syria-more or less under Turkish control-IS members show up more and more (no surprise, NATO members often worked with IS against Assad).

Egypt is still preparing for intervention on the side of Haftar in Libya. Israel claims Iran is doing the same-Iran denies-has good relations with Turkey that is fighting Haftar. Algeria is preparing for an escalation.

-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UsarGHjXhk US singer https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Robeson in 1944 I believe. If a democracy is functioning well should be seen through the eyes of those that are poor. Do they get a fair chance. For the richer people problems are less. In Europe social reforms came via strikes, trade unions most often. Paid sick leave, unemployment insurence, affordable housing and healthcare came via struggle. After the Soviet revolution out of fear for "The communist threat" also churches, more conservative politicians did give some social rights. Investments in social housing, social "duties" (education, healthcare) did decrease after the fall of the Soviet Union.

In rich oil states their own citizens accept dictatorial rule if they can get some share of the wealth. In KSA the Saud "royal"family (of over 20.000 persons) claims to own all of the country and Aramco-the biggest oil company in the world. (The Dutch "royals" are believed to have at least 25% of Shell-of course that information is "private"). With energy prices collapsing a lot of rich-once-oil states face a political crisis.

Moderators get tired, I know I am.

It is lovely to find one of your posts Josh, I know before I start it will be inteligent, well researched and polite.  I confess I've not read all of this one, but that was an act of trust.  I know I will never have to 'haul you over the coals' for bad behaviour.  I did read enough to spot the 'Good News' bit.  Just for once I got to read what I wanted to read, instead of trawling through a  quagmire of mud-slinging (no names - no pack drill).

I love this format for your posts.!  Thank you!  I am logging off whilst smiling for a change.

DJosh- you are correct in your assumption that other mink farms in other countries are infected. I recently posted this by Scott Weese (of course!)

Mink

This virus really likes mink.

In addition to widespread outbreaks on Dutch mink farms, it’s now been identified in Denmark. These start off with mink getting infected by people, but the mink can spread it amongst themselves and sometimes send it back to people. The fact that stray cats on farms have been infected is concerning and shows why we want to prevent that initial human-animal transmission. We want to keep this a strictly human issue, since that’s easier to control.

Techno, and others, thanks for reacting. We live in a fast changing revolutionary time-we need clear heads to deal with that-not insults ! Tabitha111, thanks for the Mink-info-Dutch-in-English-media seem to ignore it.

(The article under this has a few revolutionary points I love-solar power to produce hydrogen to make "green kerosine". Solar foil on top of oil storage tanks. Indonesia (a.o. Shell also moving that way) investing in renewable energy. Solar and wind can beat fossil fuels-has to beat fossil fuels-if we want to survive the present climate crisis. But "oil/gas countries" will not be happy with these changes. The Middle East wars are fossil fuel-wars. Techno-with so much good info-widespread- I can not read all I would love to read-I do not finfdtime to insult people-but I also do not want to waste my time on doing so. )

To illustrate that technological revolution a translation of https://www.gelderlander.nl/arnhem/br-nieuwe-fabriek-voor-zonnefolie-in-arnhem-goed-voor-zeker-100-banen~a7334aa0/ ;

New solar foil factory in Arnhem accounts for at least 100 jobs
ARNHEM - Indonesia's national oil and gas company, Pertamina, will invest in the Arnhem solar foil from developer HyET Solar. A new factory will be built in Arnhem next year.

The arrival of the factory will provide 100 to 150 high-quality technical jobs, says owner Rombout Swanborn.

It was previously announced that a solar foil factory will also be built in Jakarta, with the largest Indonesian public company playing a pioneering role. "Pertamina not only sees the solar foil as a breakthrough technology, but also considers it a commercially interesting product," said Swanborn.

In Arnhem there is now only a small factory where the ultra-thin, flexible solar foil is developed. 40 people work here. To be able to produce profitable solar foil, production has to increase considerably.

The intention is to build the factories in Arnhem and Jakarta simultaneously, says Swanborn. Each is then good for a production of 300 megawatts of solar foil per year.

The Arnhem energy entrepreneur signed a contract in March during the state visit of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima to Indonesia for the construction of the production factory in the capital of Indonesia. Besides Pertamina, a new company is being formed together with LEN, the Indonesian semiconductor institute and also a state-owned company. The construction of the solar foil factory in Jakarta requires an investment of 260 million euros.

Sustainable electricity on islands

That's a hefty sum, but the Indonesians have become very enthusiastic, says Swanborn, who received a delegation from Jakarta in Arnhem in December. A stable electricity grid cannot be taken for granted in island kingdom of Indonesia, Swanborn explains.

On the smallest islands, power must be generated using generators. Indonesia wants to power all islands in a sustainable way, explains Swanborn's interest in solar energy. Pertamina has now also taken an interest in HyET Solar and is investing in the new Arnhem factory.

Free area
HyET Solar already works in the Netherlands with the Rotterdam company Vopak, operator of storage tanks. In two months' time, solar foil will be applied to the roofs of large oil tanks in the Sint Laurenshaven in the Botlek area. “That is actually all free surface. Glass solar panels are too heavy for these roofs. We are now also in talks with Shell. "

In the Middle East, too, people are looking at flexible and lightweight rollable solar panels. For example, the Arnhem solar foil will soon be put on the roof of an Airport Dubai terminal as a test. “This creates a medium-sized power plant of 20 to 30 megawatts. There you can supply part of the city with electricity. ”

Green kerosene
Swanborn looks further ahead. He points to current environmental discussions about polluting flying. Flying will also be possible in a much more environmentally friendly way in the future, he expects.

“You could also use the electricity from the solar foil at the terminal to produce hydrogen. You bind hydrogen with CO2, which you remove from the air. This can also be done electrically, with the same electricity. With the hydrogen and CO2 you make green kerosene and you make aviation fuel in a sustainable

DJ-Another good Peak Prosperity episode https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8B-rk5VUcLo; in short:

-Cases exploding in and outside the US with some authorities (in my eyes DJ) "warning the virus to stop infecting people" or they will go for NPI, lockdowns etc. Masks has become a political issue in the US-insane !-with Houston, Florida close to collapsing healthcare.

-The new explosion of cases in the US is linked to reopening the economy, the other explosion-protests linked-still has to show up.

-A new mutation D614G is making Covid19 more infectious-also reinfecting people who did get infected in january, february...

DJ-This new form of Covid19 started in Europe in february or march-since around the globe most new cases have this D614G mutation-and it can infect people who did get "the older form of Covid 19" can ons speak of a "second wave"? (First wave in China december or even earlier in 2019-second wave starting in Europe february-if serious mutations go that fast-could there already be another mutation-in the US, Brazil -becoming wave 3 later on-Africa maybe already very early start of wave 4 ????)

-This new mutation provides the virus with more "infective hooks" and stability for the virus itself. PP quotes a Dr. claiming we are at pre-anti biotics days-back in history-we "may have to live with dead". DJ-I'm not sure if I agree with that idea; even in a wider meaning. PP-again points at "recovery means you did not die (yet) but (long ?) lasting damage etc.

Pre anti-biotics did see (bacterial) infections that were known in a global population less than half of present. We live with close to 8 billion in most urban area's. Now facing a virus against wich we have limited defenses....I think that is far worse...

DJ-With this Covid19 "out of control" in most places-at best at pause in most of the EU the risks of "distraction crises" is growing. What "crisis" can failing "leaders" create to "solve" hoping to get re-elected ? Law&Order often works fine...

Yesterday I put a link to https://www.hyetgroup.com/about-hyet/ article. We are moving away from fossil fuels-with low oil prices renewable energy has a harder competition-but do we have a choice ?

Polution was a major background factor in this virus outbreak. Overpopulation-with outbreaks more concentrating in urban area's (does not mean rural area's will not dee cases)-was another background factor.

Political in-action-"it does'nt have to be this way"-with central banks creating trillions to keep a rich elite happy instead of investments in healthcare, liveble societies-also for the poor. We created a social global inbalance that had to go wrong somewere-and in 2019 it did go wrong.

DJ-Were are we now ? PP-mutation news has to sink in. In fact it is bad news. The Denmark cases of minks getting infected there as well is another piece of "hard information". One could think of scenario's in wich the virus is spreading via animals-reinfecting people on a large scale. (On a small scale it did happen here in the NL-four people infected via minks-two direct-one or two of the infecting others.)

Again-looking at other pandemics in history-there is no reason at all to believe this pandemic would be over in months. We are in the early stages with most people (?) not willing to accept how serious this is. Most likely electing politicians that will show they have only ways to make matters worse.

Mix that with climate collapse, risks of global war and then try to stay optimistic. You have to keep some hope-enjoy little things when the big picture is this dark.

DJ-"Making the best of it"

Let me start of with something I love; good music https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcTUM_lWG7M There's got to be a morning after-if we can hold on thru the night...

At a global scale we are still in the middle of an escalating pandemic. The virus seems to be able to develop to do more damage with new mutations. Healthcare and economies, households face unseen challanges. But like most things in live this outbreak has many sides.

The world was facing many problems before Covid19 came around. To name just three of them, overpopulation, climate change, economic inequalities.

-Overpopulation you could describe as more people on this planet than is "wise". If we would like to give each human a liveable life, decent housing, education, nice food-basicly a good life-we needed to take a few steps back in reproducing ourselves. The UN did focus more on the role women can play-by trying to give them better chances in education. Protecting them against "bad traditions" in wich women had to marry to young, had to have to many children. There were some good results in that. Good information can bring some wisdom.

Covid19 was a hard way of putting restrictions. Nature and safety do often not combine. This world can become a dangerous place. Maybe overpopulation can be slowed down due to this Covid19 outbreak.

-Climate changes in time. The human activities play a role in these changes. A "slow down" of our economies mean a slow down in the ecological damage we do. And that in itself is welcome-could maybe buy is some time.

Working from home can be a good alternative-also solves the endless traffic jams demanding billions to be solved the "traditional way".

-Economic inequality is a third major problem. There have been all kind of plans and programs to "deal with poverty"-the outcome often was more poverty-not less. The western world dominates with endless hunger and need "to eat the planet". Maybe Covid19 wakes us up-what matters most; safety or a new I-phone ?

The choices "we" as better off western consumers make can make a global difference. Do we need to fly 10.000 miles for a holliday break ? Or could "next door" be good enough-looking at was 10 miles from our homes to discover ? Learn from the history of were we live, or use internet to learn off places we were not likely to go to anyway ?

Economic inequality is the outcome of a political proces. Believing we can take from others does not cause harm to others is a basic wrong idea. Poverty is human made-so we also can solve it. If we do not solve it "it will bite us in another way"-the best way to deal with refugees is preventing people from becoming refugees.

DJ-I try to share my thoughts here on this forum, to learn from others. Digest the news, try to get some perspectives...

DJ-reopening in Europe= also increase in cases. Bad news.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/global-health/science-and-disease/europe-sees-rise-number-covid-19-cases-first-time-months-warns/ ;

The epicentre of the pandemic may have moved from Europe to the Americas but Dr Hans Kluge, WHO’s regional director for Europe, warned the continent was still seeing more than 20,000 cases and 700 deaths a day.

He said: “Last week Europe saw an increase in weekly cases for the first time in months. For the last few weeks I have spoken about the risk of resurgence as countries adjust measures. In several countries across Europe these risks have now become a reality.”

He said 30 countries had seen increases in the number of new cases over the last two weeks and in 11 of these countries “accelerated transmission has led to very significant resurgence that if left unchecked will push health systems to the brink”.

DJ-Per july 1 there will be a lifting on most restrictions in NL but it is based on politics-not facts https://nltimes.nl/2020/06/25/dutch-governments-coronavirus-policy-losing-support.. https://www.dutchnews.nl/news/2020/06/most-people-are-picking-up-coronavirus-through-family-contacts-rivm/ The Dutch CDC-the same CDC that claimed in february we would not see an outbreak in NL because there were no direct flights from Wuhan to NL-is now saying the R0 is above 1 but there are very few people spreading the virus.

They forget 1-international travel with coming hollidayseason, Germany with an R0 close to 3, they forget about a/pre symptomatic cases. DJ-I expect we will be in a second wave second half of July. With NPI no longer supported this can become worse than our first outbreak-most likely also dealing with a variation of strains. Trying to get a grip on it in one region will make Covid19 show up in other regions.

The insane idea of herd-immunity may be behind this insanity. (Of course as always I hope I am wrong. A second wave will have economic consequences beyond description-also saves me a lot of words-but it will be bad.)

Peak Prosperity https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MAoJnu7-sw Is the worst behind us ?

-If the US reacted fast and strong in stead of slow and weak 99% of US deaths could have been prevented. (DJ-In other words most of the danger of this virus was in the way we deal with it.)

-Penn State Uni-study based on ILI (Influenza Like Illnesses) numbers from march, access deaths statistics spread of the virus in that time may have been 80 times higher than tested cases show. PP-R0 in that time was 3 to 6.7. Some antibody test showed antibodies in New York State in almost 14% of New Yorkers-end of march. (PP has some restrictions on how good anti body testing is-DJ I think those numbers "sound to good to be true so" most likely are  wishfull thinking. The virus is mutating, immunity may run out in months-most likely.)

-PP Most cases then must have had only light or no symptoms. (DJ-Would be found in antibody testing by now ?)

-Sweden did go for herd immunity-there the numbers keep going up. (Goes against this idea of widespread immunity with most cases not showing symptoms).

-PP Arizona (etc) India, Brazil still in first wave-not peaked yet. NPI, masks work-HCQ is working treatment (French study) (DJ-point is that both masks and HCQ have become "politics")

-Tocilizumab antibody treatment also succesfull (PP also some other treatments Anakinra work if those reports came over Remdesivir it would be breaking news. Still https://nltimes.nl/2020/06/25/dutch-approve-anti-viral-medication-covid-19-treatment Europe goes for Remdesivir-1000 times more expensive and not working !)

DJ-Looking at NL blood bank (blood donors) number of antibodies it is around 6% NO herd immunity at all. HCQ+zinc may be working, masks work-both are not used in most countries (out of stupidity). https://www.telegraph.co.uk/global-health/science-and-disease/europe-sees-rise-number-covid-19-cases-first-time-months-warns/

With politics pushing billions to save airliners it looks like we have not learned a thing from this outbreak yet. I hoped PP/CM could provide new insights, hope-but nope...not this time. Hollidayseason is on its way-we will be in the middle of another worse outbreak soon-july-in my (DJ) opinion. With very limited use of NPI left-no support for it, HCQ+zinc seen as dangerous in stead of effective maybe the only lesson learned Covid19 is a blood-trombosis disease, still lots of people will end up intubated...

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#countries DJ Daily new tested cases close to 180.000 per day for the last 5 days, daily number of deaths on the rise-over 5000 per day at average last week. With a lot of countries underreporting, a lot of people not getting tested-basicly out of control with also very limited NPI/lockdowns, masks etc. Hollidayseason on its way with a lot of people willing to go indirect routes (from EU to US via the Caribbean) I do not see any reason for optimism.

Healthcare only can handle a limited number of cases-still recovering from being overstretched recently.

A lot of companies have eaten up their reserves. The economic damage of this first/second wave will be much harder, larger with savings gone. Often governments did subsidize companies to keep employees on the payroll-there is a limit there as well.

DJosh~~when you say "holiday" season is starting soon, are you speaking in regards to  European holiday season in August? I always understood that was when most Europeans went on "holiday". In the US, our holiday season is generally "all summer" when folks schedule vacations...of course 4th of July is coming and lots of folks get together for BBQ's, picnics, fireworks...I suspect this will be another source of outbreaks in a few weeks afterwards.

Tabitha111-hollidayseason for NK often is when schools close for 6 weeks during summer July and August. NL is divided in three zones to spread that hollidayseason. Even in NL worse in some other countries-it may be hard to get things organized during that time-a lot of people are taking a break.

This corona-time a lot of people "stay in the region" with Germany as our main neighbour that means a lot of Germans coming to "Holland". (By the way "Holland is two western provinces of NL-Amsterdam, The Hague, Gouda, Leiden, Delft, Rotterdam, Alkmaar are all in "Holland". Arnhem, Wageningen, Eindhoven, Groningen etc are NOT in Holland. Just like "north and south"in the US, Scotland, Wales and England in the UK it may be a good thing to know. Not all Dutch like "Holland"-over 12 million of them do not live in "Holland")

-Brings me to how humans act-often irrational. Tomorrow in The Hague (Holland) there will be another big demonstration of "Virus madness" against all the NPI. Last sunday it ended up in riots due to football hooligans-the demonstration itself-organized by yoga teachers I believe-was peacefull-with group-hugs etc.

Since BLM demonstrations are allowed it is hard to get this demonstration-already forbidden-under control. With possibly 50.000 participants it is a problem.

-Other worries; we just missed a national heatwave here in the NL. Climate change is a far bigger danger even than this pandemic-this pandemic may be part of climate change. Last july we had a not recognized 42+C (close to 110F) at a military airport just north of Arnhem. The Dutch weather service did not believe that measurement allthough the thermometer was fine. "It is simply impossible".

Forests in these area's are not used to over 40C for days-in combination with present record drought-these forests may become explosive resin leaking bombs.

-I repeat myself-wars are the other "worse than pandemic"problem. From social instability due to lack of income, racism, evictions to major conflicts. The more the Covid19 pandemic widens the bigger the risks...

We are now close to 10 million tested cases, half of them in the America's. (With 15% of the global population ?)

Lufthansa, KLM, etc are saved by government/tax money-soon be spreading the virus further....

DJ-Sunday again-this week my mood switched from optimism to pessimism.

The group behind corona-protests had the story-most likely to be real-Dutch parliament accepted a "corona-law" making NPI possible january 28. At that time we did not have cases in NL-but the risks were clear. On basis of that law government started acting March 12. Lots of people in the mean time did go on wintersports (a.o. to Ischl-Austria now 42% of the population has antibodies to Covid19-the highest number so far found) and did get infected. We had carnival in that time-gap.

The foundation for the over 50.000 tested cases, over 6100 deaths was laid by the decission not to act in time. The end of january the Dutch government did know they should do something-but it would impact their popularity, no public support etc. On march 12 they acted.

This is not even "breaking news" you will not find it in the main stream media (MSM). And the story is the same in most places, countries...the ones responsible knew the risks but waited-they just did let it happen.

History is now repeating itself. We have as good as open borders, many cases in a.o. Germany, UK (soon the travel restrictions to the UK will be lifted). Since airtravel between Europe and the US is "essential for the economy"-and the US regards limits as "anti US policies" even US virusses will soon meet their European family...

Politics just let it happen....

Here in NL there was already a shortage of people willing to work in healthcare. We had "public applause for the heroes in healthcare", they may get a 1000€ tax free bonus-but government parties voted against better salaries-HCW are stopping working in health care. (We have the same with Dutch police, teachers etc.-the present government is treating civil servants as "a cost"/garbage-putting billions into private companies).

Small bussinesses do not get enough support-resulting in sharp drop of income. Public money often ends up with companies that should be able to get things on a realistic basis themselves. KLM will fire some of its employees in return they get taxpayers billions and soon will transport the virus around the globe...

We now have over 10 million tested cases-june 26 did see 194.000 new cases in one day. We now have over 500.000 deaths. We also have a failing political system not able or willing to deal with this crisis-repeating earlier mistakes. At best we have a pause

To put just one link https://halturnerradioshow.com/index.php/en/news-page/world/western-governments-debating-bio-war-with-china-over-coronavirus-mutations-far-too-advanced-for-age-of-virus ; "blame China" may be the policy western countries may choose. Only making things much worse-people are self destructive.

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.

DJ-On a personal note I just decided I may take a break in doing this "scenario's updates". Get some distraction-dive into history books, enjoy music.

Some links http://www.thebigwobble.org/2020/06/yesterday-almost-200000-new-cases-of.html Covid19 in sewage waters Barcelona-Spain march 12 2019 (!!!!!!) https://www.ub.edu/web/ub/en/menu_eines/noticies/2020/06/042.html? :

Researchers detected the presence of the virus that caused the disease in samples of waste water in Barcelona, collected in March 12, 2019. These results, sent to a high impact journal and published in the archive medRxiv, suggest the infection was present before knowing about any case of COVID-19 in any part of the world.

 -

COVID-19 cases hidden by the flu

Later, researchers analysed frozen samples from previous months to the systematic sampling, which revealed the growing apparition of SARS-CoV-2 genome between early January and early March in 2020, bringing the chronology of the coronavirus arrival in Spain even earlier: the presence of the virus was detected in January 15, 41 days before the announcement of the first case of COVID-19, which was announced on February 25.

According to the researchers, these results show the validity of the surveillance of waste waters to anticipate cases, specially considering the significant contribution of the asymptomatic and pre-symptomatic carriers in the spreading of the virus. “Those infected with COVID-19 could have been diagnosed with flu in primary care by mistake, contributing to the community transmission before the public health took measures”, notes Albert Bosch, also president of the Spanish Society of Virology.

“In the specific case of Barcelona –the virologist continues–, having detected the SARS-CoV-2 spread a month before could have improved the response to the pandemic”.

Analysis of frozen samples from 2018 and 2019

These results encouraged the researchers to analyse some frozen samples between January 2018 and December 2019, with the shocking results of the presence of SARS-CoV-2 genome in March 2019, before any notification of COVID-19 cases in the world. “All samples were negatives regarding the SARS-CoV-2 genome presence except for March 12, 2019, in which the levels of SARS-CoV-2 were low but were positive, using two different targets”, says the researcher.

“Barcelona receives many visitors for both tourist and professional reasons, –continues Bosch–, and it is possible for a similar situation to have taken place in other parts of the world, and since most of the COVID-19 cases show a similar symptomatology to the flu, those cases could have been disguised as an undiagnosed flu”.

https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/escobar-why-iran-wont-be-broken DJ-One of the reasons for the 1979 Islamic Revolution was the lack of public healthcare by the western puppet "sjah". The west supported Iraq (a.o. with weapons of mass destruction money from KSA to be used against Iran. Saddam Hussein may get sorry later on for accepting that role) in its 1980-88 war against Iran. Covid 19 was bad-that war was worse. Iran is part of both Russia-Iran-China and Turkey-Iran-Pakistan cooperation, sending 2 to 3 oil tankers per month to Venezuela.

We all need to take breaks from time to time, even if they are in the shelter of our homes.

This can get us down, so I hope you find things to recharge yourself with.

DJ https://thewire.in/health/watch-karan-thapar-epidemiologist-jayaprakash-muliyil half of India will get Covid19-and that is "good for herd immunity".

https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/former-fda-chief-warns-half-population-could-catch-coronavirus-year-end-live-updates :

With a brief pause in US news, our attention turned to CNBC Monday morning where former Food and Drug Administration commissioner Dr. Scott Gottlieb warned that up to half of Americans could have been infected with the virus by the end of the year.

"By the time we get to the end of this year, probably close to half the population will have had coronavirus, and that’s if we just stay at our current rate," he said during an interview with CNBC’s "Squawk Box."

"We don’t need to vaccinate the entire population because a lot of people would have already had this by the time we get to a vaccination," he added.

Although younger people appear to be the most impacted during this latest wave, all that could change as transmission rates increase.

"Eventually, it will start to seep into older people, more vulnerable people, and you’ll start to see the total number of deaths go up even if the death rate has come down,” he said. “We’ll probably get above 1,000 deaths a day on average as the infection starts to widen out."

And again, this is assuming the rate of spread remains steady: if it gets worse, so will the outcome.

DJ-India's population is 90%<60 y/o=130 million people over 60. About half of the cases in India is in people under 60.

Again I am not a scientist, I hesitate making these kind of statements, asking this kind of questions-will by the end of 2020 we have over 1 billion cases ? If 20% of them would need hospital care will they most die without such care ?

How can economies not crash under these tensions ? How can other illnesses, social unrest not explode ?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LCRBqmQxv0 Dr.John Campbell about the discovery of virus parts in sewege water from Barcelona from march 12 2019. (He is NOT correct in linking that with China, that is jumping to conclusions. ) IF the virus was widespread much earlier but seen as "a sort of flu" (and that scenario in my opinion is very unrealistic-they always try to find the virus in population testing) there might be wide spread immunity. (DJ-Most likely scenario is the march 12-2019 sample from Barcelona got contaminated. It would be good if other samples could be tested around the globe. There may be a link to China-and then China has something to explain).

The global economic damage is slowly becoming clear-and it is a horror show.

Thanks for the support EdwinSM, KiminNM (and others).

I am here on this forum to get info and "digest"/share news and my thoughts. To put it in musicterms I came from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHGP9-xShbs (Shades of gray-The Monkees) to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4irXQhgMqg (Paint it, Black-Rolling Stones).

A few things;

-I feel responsible for what I write-I do not know who may read what I write. A joke may good for all, bad news can push some into depression or worse. So I think not twice but all the time before I move into "dark waters".

-I want to have good info, links, before going into the darker scenario's. (https://www.moonofalabama.org/2020/06/the-moa-week-in-review-open-thread-2020-51.html has good info. A.o. the 1918 discussion on masks...Also the Barcelone finding march12 2019 has to be false.) Good info is getting harder to find. Dr.John Campbell does not know D.C. stands for District of Columbia/Washington D.C., is very bad in doing simple calculations. Peak Prosperity last info was "unrealistic" in hoping for herd immunity-he was my best source of info.

-I do not want to spread despair. https://www.theweek.in/news/health/2020/06/30/new-swine-flu-with-pandemic-potential-discovered-china.html is "good-bad news". The NL government did know what was coming in january but for political reasons-like in most western countries-acted on it in march...Now repeating the same mistakes again...How insane can it get ?

-I want to keep it sharp-not going for "no news"-news. https://www.almasdarnews.com/article/powerful-blast-rocks-eastern-iran-report/ is part of the USrael war on Iran. (DJ-I am not against the US or Israel-I am against destructive foreign policies. I am against IS/alqaeida being supported by the west in a war against Russia and China. With this corona crisis things only will get (much) worse.)

By making "scenario's"a wider story-also including climate change, wars etc. I made it a "big job"for myself-to keep myself somewhat informed and share it with this forum. No longer on a daily basis-but several times a week. (Because I am also a little bit of a "news-junky"-watch history in the making.)
