I think Connecticut - https://ctmirror.org/2020/03/20/lamont-orders-non-essential-businesses-to-close-during-public-health-crisis/

New Mexico is close, but not quite there yet.  Many stores are closing though, because one requirement is no more than 10 people in one location at a time. (excepting grocery stores, pharmacies)   All bars and restaurants are take-out or delivery only.

I think everyone knows it's not going to be just 2 weeks. Maybe a month maybe two. Just look at Italy.

They have done this in PA but there is debate about what is essential or not...still some workers are essential and have to report to work.  It seems like they should shut everything down.  We are growing in cases today a huge jump from just a hundred a few days ago...and the number are expected to shoot up again next week.  Rumor is because of the gas pumps!  I can believe it.

I thought I heard on the 11 PM news last night that this new rule will not go into effect until Monday, but don't quote me.  The turnpike plazas, including the one I work at, reopened, but only from 8 AM to 6 PM, and only one restaurant (thank God not mine).  The restrooms are not open, instead they are using PortaJohns obtained by the Commonwealth. I received word Thursday that I am furloughed, so I have applied for unemployment, Flex time, and thank God will receive a small but timely tax refund.

Only the beer stores are open here as far as booze.   So far we are not limited as to where we can go but I think it may be coming here too.  Grocery, pharmacy,  bank and feed stores are still open though most have limited their hours to daytime operation.

Maybe so the employees don't have to share bathrooms with travelers? They'll use the normal ones, closed to the public perhaps? Just a wild guess.

i think it could be for several reasons.  Probably a better way to ensure social distancing, since some urinals are shoulder to shoulder.  I think they are easier and faster to clean, just open the door and hose it down.  Possibly want to have more fresh air into the each of them, rather than a closed room.   Could be other reasons as well, just hope there is a hand washing station along side them.

it's because they are only employing a skeleton crew of employees, largely salaried, i.e. managers, and a very few full-time hourly supervisors, and only to run and man the Burger King from 8 to 6.  They are not allowing the public to access the bathrooms or to eat in the dining room, it's take-out only.  It's usually porters and matrons that clean the bathrooms and lobbies, and having them there with ppe's necessary to clean all the ca-ca is more money than the company is willing to spend, especially considering that the parent company of HMS Host, which is who runs the turnpike plazas in all 50 states, is an Italian company that was already teetering on the financial edge before the pandemic.

Thank you, Sheep Lady, so am I!  I hope that they expand unemployment a little, too, but I don't want to be too greedy.  I am grateful to be primarily SIP, except for occasional grocery runs.
