If I went out I would wear a mask...an N95 covered by a cloth. If I went out I would only be out for an hour or less if I went grocery shopping. However, if people do not wear a mask who is going to MAKE someone wear a mask. That is why I will wear an N95 when I do go out. It protects me and should protect others. But to make people wear masks is like asking the K-6 grade kids at my school to wear a mask...not going to happen. It will start out ok but they will have it off in 1/2 hour. LOL, people are like kids! |

There's a lot of that going on here on this forum. I agree... incredibly discouraging. |

Part of the problem is that the wearing of masks — or the refusal to do so — has become a political statement. Living in a mostly conservative, exurban area, my family and I often receive mocking looks or even outright laughter or glares when we are wearing our masks in public. I think that if we were in a more blue area, that would happen less often. I have been incredibly discouraged that among certain circles, the complete disregarding of scientific fact has become something of a status symbol. :( |

No. Perhaps its faulty reading comprehension on my part but this article was criticizing the "patchwork policy" in effect in different states and the confusion in messaging that masks will protect. masks don't protect the wearer (unless their wearing N-95), but it protects everyone from getting infected. But in that respect, yes, Americans can be dicks in that they don't understand that even if they feel fine, they can still be carriers. But that too is because of mixed messaging. |

I put mine on when I leave my house; reasons- I live in a very busy condo complex...people out walking dogs, kids riding bikes or running around, folks walking and jogging our circle....every day when I go to walk my dog I run into someone..so there is no way I am leaving without my mask on, especailly when others are not really as cautious and the neighborhood kids run up to me constantly... |

When will we learn that we are all trying to do the best that we can as human beings ? Some people are scared so they were masks. Some people are scared so they don't wear masks. |

I have worn in car alone because if I have several locations to go I just leave it on in-between instead of touching mask with unwashed hands and I have left it on until getting home after being at work same reason so I can wash etc. |
