That it has not appeared here, may be because this site is about pandemics and I did see a connection to Chav that was helpful to discuss.  [On the other hand if one attends a rally that Trump is planning and the organisers insist that people sign a waver over rights regarding corvid19 then there is a clear connection between the pandemic and a political event]

Another reason to keep CHAZ from this forum is-please-keep this forum functioning. It is good members have different views-that keeps things interesting. On politics there are views, much less rights or wrongs-but choices. 

United we can keep this forum working, divided-by choice-repeating over and over-only one viewpoint does not make interesting reading.

One person was killed and another critically injured after a shooting in Seattle’s Capitol Hill protest zone early Saturday morning, authorities said.

The shooting happened at approximately 2:30 a.m. in CHOP — or “Capitol Hill Occupied Protest” zone — on 10th Avenue and East Pine Street, near Cal Anderson Park, police confirmed in a statement and via Twitter.

Around 10 a.m., Seattle Police released new information about the shooting, stating when officers arrived and tried to find the victim of the shooting, they were met by a violent crowd “that prevented officers safe access to the victims,” officials said.

Well looks like the "summer of love" is over in Seattle. It only took one homicide and 2 others shot to end it and the mayor to come to her senses. Maybe they should have made Kevlar a requirement for entrance to the zone.

Seattle businesses sue authorities over ‘perpetual block party’ inside Capitol Hill protest zone

About a dozen businesses and residents located around Seattle’s autonomous protest zone have sued authorities who “abandoned” the area to protests.

The lawsuit, submitted on Wednesday, argued that businesses in and around the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) had been “overrun” since Seattle authorities took the “unprecedented decision to abandon and close” the area.

“Rather, this lawsuit is about the constitutional and other legal rights of plaintiffs — businesses, employees, and residents in and around CHOP — which have been overrun”, said the lawsuit.

It added that the CHAZ had been “unchecked by the police, unserved by fire and emergency health services, and inaccessible to the public at large”.

The businesses also alleged that Seattle authorities “chose to actively endorse, enable and participate in the occupation” which has seen some businesses owners threatened and attacked.

Seattle Mayor Durkan needs to sack up and grow a pair and handle the situation.

Well it's Seattle and as leftist as it gets, so feelings over law and order and common sense are a consistent theme there and has been for quite some time.  They should move their "summer of love" to the mayors and city councils houses and use their yards for the duration they would find them most accommodating I'm sure.

Mayor Durkan and Governor Inslee need to pull their heads out of their 4th point of contact and handle the situation as it's quite clear this area presents a threat to public safety and that is what their job descriptions do include as part of their elected responsibilities, in fact it's job 1 for them.
