A pig coronavirus is one to watch, but no need to worry at the moment.

As for African Swine Fever, being an asfarvirus it could only exchange DNA with oyher asfarviridae.  So no chance of it mixing with Coronavirus.  (For example, horses breed with horses and occasionally donkeys - their distant cousin.  But they can't breed with lobsters - their relationship is too distant.)  Luckily ASF also requires an arthropod vector  (ticks fleas etc.) or eating the flesh underdone, so although it is endemic in Africa, the risks of a global spread to humans is minimal.

A new coronavirus fear? New strain seen in swine has potential to jump to humans, US study finds

 • The virus, called swine acute diarrhoea syndrome, or Sads-CoV, began to infect swine herds in China in 2016, causing diarrhoea and vomiting
 • The most likely way for the virus to move to humans would be through contact such as between workers and animals at hog farms.

https://www.scmp.com/topics/african-swine-fever or https://www.scmp.com/topics/african-swine-feverA huge outbreak in mainland China of African swine fever, a disease that is not harmful to humans, but deadly to pigs, has resulted in more than 100 million pigs either dying from the disease, or being culled since August 2018.

DJ-https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_swine_fever_virus or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_swine_fever_virus ;

African swine fever virus (ASFV) is a large, double-stranded DNA virus in the Asfarviridae family.[1] It is the causative agent of African swine fever (ASF). The virus causes a hemorrhagic fever with high mortality rates in domestic pigs; some isolates can cause death of animals as quickly as a week after infection. It persistently infects its natural hosts, warthogsbushpigs, and soft ticks of the genus Ornithodoros, which likely act as a vector, with no disease signs.[2] It does not cause disease in humans.[3][4] ASFV is endemic to sub-Saharan Africa and exists in the wild through a cycle of infection between ticks and wild pigs, bushpigs, and warthogs. The disease was first described after European settlers brought pigs into areas endemic with ASFV, and as such, is an example of an emerging infectious disease.

ASFV replicates in the cytoplasm of infected cells.[1] It is the only virus with a double-stranded DNA genome known to be transmitted by arthropods.

DJ Did the outbreak of African Swine Fever in China open the doors to coronavirusses ? Does Covid19 have a relation with pigs in China ?
