The state-run TASS news agency quoted Popova as saying that none of the mutations discovered in Russia so far have been shown to make the virus more contagious or dangerous.
Popova noted that foreign and domestic coronavirus genome analysis has shown “massively imported strains of the virus from Western Europe” but none from China.
DJ-It may be wise to keep an eye on statistics and "strange stories". Mutations do increase if more people get infected and/or the virus finds a host in other species.

	I was just watching a piece on PBS news on Covid in Russia. They've reported 30,000 deaths, but doctors there are saying it's more like 130,000. If the patient has a comorbidity, doctors are required to state cause of death as the comorbidity and not Covid.

Redefining "Covid deaths" is the rule-still today Russia reported a record number of 456 deaths-highest number during this pandemic.
