IMHO global comparisons with Sweden are inappropriate. Compare Sweden with similar countries, Norway, Finland, Denmark and you can see just how terribly they are actually doing. |

Sweden's universal health system is nationally regulated and locally administered. The Ministry of Health and Social Affairs sets overall health policy, the regions finance and deliver health care services, and the municipalities are responsible for the elderly and disabled.Jun 5, 2020 |

Most Nordic countries have good health care facilities, and the geography, and the peoples mindset has alot to do with it...... There's a long way to go as regards statistics...... As i understand it herd immunity can only be achieved when 90%+ Have either had the virus and survived,or a vaccine..... The problem with the 1st option here is To get to 90%+ alot of people are going to end up dead or in hospital...... Healthcare systems under pressure.......etc The 2nd option requires compliance by the population to do what is required until a vaccine is developed, IE....BE PATIENT....... |

And yet despite their approach to the virus they are not among the top 20 countries in the world in both observed case fatality ratio's and deaths per 100,000 according to John Hopkins mortality analyses. So they must be doing something right. |

Sweden sees no signs so far of herd immunity stopping the virus. |
