Colorado had done so well for so long and we were "oh so proud" . Some areas are still doing ok but now there are these types of situations happening here: The Pueblo County Coroner's Office has announced that they've activated the mobile 'deployable morgue unit,' which is a semi-truck that can be used for the short-term storage of dead bodies. The activation of this resource comes as the COVID-19-related death toll continues to climb in Pueblo County. According to county data, more than 20 deaths have been recorded in the past five days, bringing the total number of COVID-19-related Pueblo County deaths to 229 since March 2020. Pueblo is currently at 'level red' status, according to the state. The two-week average positivity rate is 12.2 percent. While the deployable morgue has been activated, it is unclear if it is being used yet. In a recent report from KKTV, it was stated that the coroner would not confirm this detail, though it was stated that the activation was due to a recent increase in deaths. |
