Just got the laptop set up and who do I want to talk to first ? AFT aka the wise ones.... Monday I get to go home.... It's been forever since i have been back here or home. I am not happy in a nursing home. Felt like a sitting duck when the big die off happened, 6 people died and 62 got sick.. I hope all of you don't mind me saying that if you don't believe covid is real then you are nuts. I am still weak but Jill is going to stay with me 24/7 and Becky is on call. Vicki is coming home on Tuesday. She is going to go to rehab. My mind is still a bit spotty, |

Those who got it wrong, for whatever reason, may feel defensive and retrench into a position that doesn’t accord with the facts.

So pleased to hear of your return :) I hope your recovery treats you well. I can relate to your feelings of a spotty mind, so you'll definitely find common ground with me. Take it easy over there |

Thank you for the replies to ME 163's note. A few pointers and info on his condition. 1. His memory is spotty and he has missed 8 months of his life. He is still processing information slowly and has problems with short and long term memory. 2. He is still sensitive to light and sound. He wears specialized glasses and uses a bigger screen to type his replies. 3. He has trouble walking unaided and needs a cane to walk. His body has extensive neurological damage and is not going to be able to work for at least six months or more. 4. He experiences flashbacks and nightmares at night due to his trauma. overall, we are very lucky to have him alive and somewhat in awe of him. JIll |

Tuesday, Vicki came home to be with us. We are so happy to have ME and Vicki at home now. We are all going to take our time and allow ME and Vicki to recover and adjust to life at home. We ( Jilll and Becky ) are hopeful that we can keep both of them alive and well. Vicki has COPD and uses oxygen at night. ME just got off of oxygen at the nursing home and is now eating solid food and drink. He asked us for a rum and coke OR martini... we laughed and told him that he can have it only if he buys us our drinks also. ME is a historian so he asked to see his library of books, yes he does read books. We have been taking care of ME and Vicki for 8 months and it has been a joy and heartbreaking at the same time since almost all of the residents got covid. I guess that that is all for now, Jill and Becky. |
