News from India is not good, regarding the fungus.   This is bad news as it is linked to steroid use in treating Covid.

Quote More than 4,300 people have died of the deadly "black fungus" in India in a growing epidemic that mainly affects Covid-19 patients.

India has reported 45,374 cases of this rare and dangerous infection, called mucormycosis, Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has said.

It affects the nose, eyes and sometimes the brain, and usually strikes 12-18 days after recovery from Covid.

Nearly half of those infected are still receiving treatment.

Doctors say the fungus has a link with the steroids used to treat Covid, and diabetics are at particular risk.

Very hard to treat  a fungal infection, in a hot humid  country ,with very poor sanitation, no medication,

poor people  can't afford   the meds in any case,I had a fungal  toe problem, cost me $60.00 for meds ,$60.00 a fortune  if you earn a dollar a day.....

scared for life,physically  and mentally

This seems to be a truly horrendous thing to get.

An anti-fungal drug used in the treatment of a rare infection called mucormycosis, or "black fungus", is in short supply across states in India. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-57167322

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mucormycosis or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mucormycosis DJ All kind of bacterial and fungal infections can be expected in countries we keep poor AND in "rich" countries when hygiene becomes a problem. In Africa AIDS/HIV+ makes the outlook for patients with Covid19 + AIDS/HIV + coinfection bad. In India the mix with diabetes is not good.

Some of the coinfections can be a health risk for healthy persons in itself...it is very likely when cases of fungal infections go up these infections will spread in other groups.

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.
