What a great article! Thanks for posting that Pixie. It's so good I've linked it on my desktop and will be emailing it to my relatives. I've read every word and couldn't agree more with what this guy is saying. I come from an enormous family and have relatives everywhere, over 4 continents, and many of my elderly relatives, even those with medical qualifications, are viewing their vaccinations as some kind of magic force field and they feel invincible. All of them have stopped wearing masks and distancing because they are all "fully protected" as they keep telling me. This article points out that immunity, particularly in the elderly, wanes quickly and people need to take precautions. I am also relieved to hear him say that the government is so keen to reinforce the narrative that vaccinations are everything that they have ignored data that shows how the number of breakthrough cases are increasing, and so vaccination on it's own is not enough. This really is an excellent, well written article and I hope everyone reads it. Here's an extract that is very telling. We should be getting more honest feedback. We're not children. We can handle the truth. “The breakthrough problem is much more concerning than what our public officials have transmitted,” Topol continued. “We have no good tracking. But every indicator I have suggests that there’s a lot more under the radar than is being told to the public so far, which is unfortunate.” The result, he said, was a widening gap between the messaging from public-health authorities and the meaning of the data emerging in real time. “I think the problem we have is people — whether it’s the CDC or the people that are doing the briefings — their big concern is, they just want to get vaccinations up. And they don’t want to punch any holes in the story about vaccines. But we can handle the truth. And that’s what we should be getting.” |

Those who got it wrong, for whatever reason, may feel defensive and retrench into a position that doesn’t accord with the facts.
