Has anyone heard of using eucalyptus as a treatment for bf? I was told by an RN that simply sniffing it would clean out anything in the respiratory tract. Fact or Fiction? I'm new to the sight and just looking for some information! Help! Confused

I am also an R.N. and if it were that easy we would all be buying stock in Eucalypus. I do think that it helps with a lot of sinus difficulties and is very helpful in other ailments, but I just don't see any documentation to support this. Anyone?

Depending on the species,it is very good for respiratory tract.I would use it as a topical treatment in a carrier oil.Check around the web for a good aromatherapy site that has good information, and a wide variety of oils.I have used aromatherapy and it does work very well.My daughter has used as a vapor bath.Eucalyptus mixed in a carrier oil dumped it in a bath tub with water as hot as you can stand it,and received great relief from congestion that way.
