WHO: Fake drug sales thrive on Internet
The Internet increasingly is a source of counterfeit medicines, according to a top official of the World Health Organization, which estimates as many as 10% of drugs on the world market are mislabeled or fake. Following a meeting in Rome where health officials and drug industry leaders agreed to set up a task force to fight the counterfeit drug trade, the WHO official said monitoring online drug sales is a crucial part of the efforts.   Yahoo!/Reuters (2/21)
