Local passengers amongst those on swine flu flighthttp://www.londonderrysentinel.co.uk/news/Local-passengers-amongst-those-on.5284623.jp

NUMBER of passengers from Londonderry were on the recent flight from
London which flew home an Antrim man who became the first person in
Northern Ireland to be diagnosed with Swine Flu.
It
is understood a small number of people from the area were contacted
after travelling on the flight, though it is also believed no-one else
has shown any symptoms of being unwell.A spokesperson for the Public Health Authority declined to comment on whether any of those tested were from Londonderry, saying: "Everyone whom it was possible for us to trace from the flight was quickly contacted. "Three individuals did not subsequently make contact with the health authorities despite messages having been left with them. There could be various and quite legitimate reasons for them not to have made contact. For instance, if they were in good health, they may not consider themselves to be at any risk. "It is not possible to give a geographical breakdown of the locations of possible contacts. Anyone who feels they may still be at risk should follow the guidance which is to remain at home, and contact either the GP or the helpline for further advice. As the risk period for the development of illness is seven days, anyone on the flight and has remained well, is no longer considered at risk." In a subsequent statement from the Public Health Authority Dr Carolyn Harper, Director of Public Health, said: "The Public Health Agency has contacted passengers who travelled on the same flight as the one individual with confirmed swine flu. That flight was more than seven days ago, so the risk to other passengers is now very low. " The Western Health and Social Care Trust was also contacted. They, too, declined to say whether anyone from the area had been tested. A spokeswoman for the Trust said that they could not comment due to "client confidentiality". Meanwhile, the Health Minister, Michael McGimpsey has updated members of the Assembly, saying it was "only to be expected that a case of Swine Flu should have come to Northern Ireland," he said. The Northern Ireland Swine Flu helpline is 0800 0514142.
