Vietnam - Bird flu back with a vengence
21 Dec 2009 - The Vietnamese veterinary authority sent Follow Up Report No. 35 dated 16 December to (Snip) OIE. Both outbreaks were in Thai Nguyen province in the north-east of the country. The first started on 9 December at Hoang Nong. On a farm of 900 birds in two flocks, 350 were affected and 310 died, while 590 were destroyed. The affected flocks were in the same village, where vaccination against avian influenza had not been carried out. The second outbreak started on 12 December in Yen Lang. The affected flock comprised 152 (Snip) ducks on a small household farm. They had not been vaccinated. (Snip) 95 birds showed symptoms and 65 died. The remaining birds were destroyed. http://www.meattradenewsdaily.... |

Recently posted that we have determined Avian is Pandemic in birds. Despite the sizable obstacles to it succeeding in humans, with time and naturally or unnaturally- it will find a way to become a more efficient spreader in people eventually. But so far that may be far longer than several lifetimes and in the distant future.
It does not help when labs mix h1n1-h5n1 to see what will happen. That is about as effective as digging up Eskimos with a highly pathogenic 1918 Pandemic virus and bringing it brought back to the U.S. and reconstructing an active infective form of it. This is the season of bad judgment calls and historical mistakes which we will be forced to deal with in 2010. Nature has spread many variants of H5N1 in birds and those have now spread all over the planet pretty much. However, this may be eclipsed by the H1N1 mutations which are the primary source of our current Pandemic and the likelihood of a combination is less than one with a recombination or co-infection of H3N2. In a large number of wards in U.K. during a sweep of H3N2 they were not only finding flu- but also strains of norovirus co-infecting people equally. Some wards had equal numbers of both noro and h3n2. This I have been stating for some time and is reflected by other health care professionals and doctors. The fact that a pack, or group of viruses and bacteria spreading together will be the nemesis which downs the health care system and creates a sweeping global wave which have a very high death rate. http://thebirdflupandemic.com/archives/is-h2n3-killing-more-people-than-the-h1n1-swine-flu-is It is the basis of the pack theory- and one doctor I recently spoke to on the phone said- that it was the secondary infections attacking after the virus had been beat by the host on the raw lung tissues bleeding and exposed that could explain many of the deaths. A closer look at what bacteria are traveling with the primary virus and in one study there were levels of substances in the blood that would indicate one was cuing the other-they may act together, one waiting for the moment of optimum vulnerability of the host. This needs more research- but there may not be sufficient time. quote: s H2N3 Killing More People Than The H1N1 Swine Flu Is?Is H2N3 killing more people than the H1N1 swine flu is? Medical authorities are now investigating statements by Mexican health officials that the H2N3 flu virus was responsible for "the majority of cases tested" in an influenza outbreak in early April. Keep in mind that this was three weeks before H1N1 came on the scene. Stunning commentsmade by Mexican health minister José Angel Córdova Villalobos during an April 27 press conference referred to the investigation of an outbreak in Perote, Veracruz, on April 2. It was reportedly stated during that press conference that "in looking for the influenza virus, the majority of cases tested were H2N3." So could all the testing for swine flu throughout North America be looking for the wrong disease? Does this explain the hundreds that have died in Mexico from "respiratory disease"? Could two strains of the flu be circulating at the same time? Just what is going on here? >end quote< How many people are infected with H3N2? When they stopped testing for H1N1 in most people- except the very ill- what tests are actually run to find disease rather than picking one primary issue and ignoring what may be many others? And that of course is our final question. We know that Avian is common to almost all bird now. And yet over a long time it still- even as scientists dabble and try on purpose to create a virulent spreadable form- they have failed. It remains- as the current flu strain- pathetic- even compared to seasonal flu as a spreader no matter what has been tried on ferrets or animals close genetically to humans. Avian simply isn't going to make it as the leader of the Pandemic that puts us down unless it is genetically engineered as weapon and sprayed on peoples heads. A mutation of H1N1 which is a wildfire spreader to just increase its virulence to even 4-5% - a fraction of Avian-would take out society as we know it. The days of the true scientists have been replaced by the politicians and health officials and considerations of money and economy- more than simple effort to cure diseases and permanently heal patients. Basically health care in general is deteriorating and especially in terms of the elderly. It is less aggressive and more profit and drug orientated. We - those who make the drugs to fight the viruses and bacteria are losing the race, even so. How are we to know how many species in the past-like deer on an island where all the predators have been killed overpopulate themselves to death- our density - is an ideal breeding ground for the new and more serious viral and bacterial drug resistant diseases. How are we to know how many species have vanished because of viruses? Maybe even the dinosaurs. Much like the Olmec people of the Yucatan in Mexico- an ancient species such as australopithecus which just- didn't make it. Non-primates are not the only ones to have vanished and while we spend trillions worrying about bombs - it is the war on disease that is our greatest threat. Medclinician |
