A combination of measurements and forecasts show that the 2014 annual mean temperature for Europe will be 10.5 ˚C, which is 0.3˚C above the previous record of 2007. The top-10 of warmest years now contains only years since 2000, with the exception of 1989, which comes in at sixth place.
A large number of European countries have reached record-high annual temperatures in 2014, including Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, France, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, the United Kingdom and probably Sweden. |
