I recorded it on tivo. They mentioned people storing 3 months of supplies, schools preparing for down time w/ online assignments, buying masks, and that it takes 8 weeks for a flu to pass through a community. One Dr. said we won't be going to the symphony, because people will be staying home.

At least 8 weeks is a more reasonable goal than 10 days. I currently have a little over a month's worth of supplies, and more if I ration food. |

Remember that the first 8 weeks will only be the first wave of this...and then people will think it is safe to come out and go on with there normal lives and the second wave will hit...maybe just like in 1918...the second wave was the most deadliest....

yeah, don't forget about the second wave. i'm trying to prep for both. there's no way of knowing how much time we'll have inbetween the 1rst and 2nd wave to prepare for the 2nd wave.

Assessing Bird FluAn outbreak of highly contageous bird flu that began in Southeast Asia three years ago, has now spread to Europe, the Middle East and West Africa. More than 200 million domestic birds have been killed to halt the advance of the virus, called H5N1. Ninety-eight people, who probably contracted the disease through contact with domestic fowl, have died. Scientists believe the virus could evolve and acquire characteristics that would make it easily transmissible among human beings, causing a global influenza epidemic. But they cannot predict when, or if, that will occur.GRAPHIC: Christina Rivero, Dita Smith and Gene Thorp, The Washington Post - March 18, 2006

I'm gazing at this map and getting a nagging feeling that something just isn't right. I really hope that the "migratory birds" thing fits this map because I can't pick out any other common factor. Something just doesn't look right. |

How are we going to look at this map when the American continents are included? Way too wide! Therefore, it cannot happen! My head isn't in the sand! I'm just practicing to be a government planner! |
