Hey guys this is important to me. I may have to take a leave of absence if this family comes back and is not tested. I am 70 and if I got this virus I would probably die. I am not sure if they would let a test be done but just need to know if it is even possible.

I doubt it's even possible without due cause. Also bear in mind that certain viruses don't show up in a blood test until some time after you've contracted them (such as HIV - which is also an RNA virus like a coronavirus - and some sexually transmitted diseases). So if this family got off the plane and were tested they might come back negative only to develop the virus days later.

But I'm not a doctor.....

Do you work with this family?
Those who got it wrong, for whatever reason, may feel defensive and retrench into a position that doesn’t accord with the facts.
