The Red Cross is telling people they should have supplies to last them from 4 days to 4 weeks. The time frames are getting a bit longer. Red Cross wants public to be prepared By Georgia E. Frye / staff writer Cheri Barry, executive director of the Key Chapter of the American Red Cross, said that while people should not panic about the potential spread of bird flu, they should be prepared to protect themselves if the flu becomes a pandemic. |

Four weeks? Well, that's better but still not good enough. We will keep hoping that the word does get out there and people will take heed..perhaps prepare for a longer period of time on their own. Hanging in there..waiting for the other shoe to fall. Peace. |

This is good, here in Florida the government has a great deal of difficulty even getting people to be self sufficient for a 3 day hurricane. What the Red Cross is really saying is that no widespread relief will be possible until, at best, 4 weeks.
