We just had a plumber at our house who put a camera down our sewage main to diagnose problems (our sewer main collapsed). He wore latex gloves. He fed the camera in, and then pulled it out, many feet of this camera line all covered in sewage. He then proceeded to come into the house, gloves still on, and tell us what they found. While he was telling us, I watched him touch his face several times, his shirt many times, the back of our recliner, our stair bannister and some other things. I tried very hard to pay attention to what he was saying but I found myself just making a mental list of everything I was going to wipe down with clorox bleach wipes when he was done. He seemed completely unaware of it and I thought about mentioning it to him, but I didn't want to embarrass him in front of his coworkers (they sent a whole army of plumbers here, our situation is serious).
So as they say PPE is only effective if you use it right. I guess technically his hands were still clean. |
