I have read, by seeming authoritative experts, that it is, and others who say it is not.

I was on a conference call yesterday which included the State Epidemiologist. This guy said social distancing of 6' was appropriate since it was spread by droplets which fell to the floor within 4'. (honest, that is what he said). The rest of what he said was nothing more than repeating CDC "guidance".

Thoughts?

My 22 cents from a country boy.

I'll leave the technical jargon to Chuck, Tech and some others.

As far as i can gather it's aerosolized enough or "airborne" long enough to travel great distances....into air vents/ ducts, around walls, through cloth etc:

No matter to me if its suspended, fly's, swims or floats.......this puppy is like a magnet....just IMO.

Guidance says if you are in the "same room" as a positive case for a period of time you will get it.....and there is a reason for the negative pressure isolation....draw your own conclusion.

The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself......FDR

Would China has sprayed so much stuff into the air if it wasnt.  While i dont think it is fully aerosolised i think Dr John Campbell is right and it is on a spectrum, 500m to 1k i doubt it, but 20m down a corridor, quite possibly.

I am also convinced it also well aersolized. The cruise ship is a case study. Also, the WA state quarantine facility that they bought (a motel) was purchased because it had separate doors and separate AC units for each room, among other criteria.

Tech here with:

First the technical stuff; Other coronaviruses are airborne their shape protects them from drying and UV.

They also tend to infect mostly the upper airways.  This one likes the lower respiratory tract.  Being further down makes it harder for the body to aerosolise it.

'And then the actual stuff; The distinction between droplet and airborne infections is not a hard border!  So,
