Pixie...guessing you wouldn't mind breaking it for him? I've always thought he was the lesser of the 2 evil (Clinton...shudder) but he sure is mishandling this, or maybe not - depending what the real PTB are directing from behind the scenes. |

Chuck had it right the last time around IMHO. As a lifelong Republican he chose Hilary: "We can chuck her out after one term!" That makes sense to me. Hopefully Romney then becomes the choice! Him I trust; - well as much as any politician. |

Just saw that wet behind the ear Surgeon General, couldn't get a straight answer on any question he was asked.. Just refered to other officials. It's the 3 Card Monte on steroids, this federal response. History books will tell of this chapter and how mismanagement created the largest US lost of lives. |

I really wish the political commentary would stop. I come here looking for news and information. Everyone is entitled to their opinion on how the government of the USA or any other country is handling the situation...but perhaps the posting of the opinions should be done in the Political section of the forum instead of the News section? |

Perhaps you have a point. Thing is, though, people are frustrated due to the (lack of) policy response, and it may be difficult to separate. |

If my post is offensive, someone who's able to move can,I don't have a problem with it. News and the national message are intertwined, they effect the spread, the deaths and the general public perception on how they should protect their family...... My apology |

The choice of name is not ironic - I really am a technophobe. If no one minds I will try to move this thread. But I might screw everything up if I try. Does anyone mind taking the risk? |

I think it's rather funny some people seem to think that this virus would be or could be stopped by a government entity or a administration and seek to politicize it. Asymptomatic contagious cases, long duration incubation periods during which those infected are contagious, high % of mild cases and a high RO make this one virus that is virtually impossible to contain and control. If you think it would be any different with anyone else as POTUS or with any other administration at the helm you are thinking politically, certainly not logically given the stealthy traits of the COVID-19 virus. And this virus certainly doesn't care if you are a democrat or a republican. |

You are correct. No one can make this not spread nor any less deadly. However, we are still in flu season. If the epidemic can be held back just a little, the hospitals will have more capacity to deal with it. They will still be overburdened, but a few lives would be saved that otherwise will be lost. If there were also the political will, that time could be used to convert some army barracks and the like into makeshift hospitals and to upgrade the skills of a few service personnel to better care for the oncoming flood. Reusing and reusing the word "Great" in ever increasing lists of platitudes does nothing to save lives. The only timely use for it is in the phrases: "Now would be a great time to prep a bit, listen to scientists, educate the public - not with propaganda but science, and bu&&er the bureaucrats." |

Success! But I had to move each post individually. It was a pain in the Trump. |
