Ok folks check in and tell us what is happening around the state.

In Hernado County, we do not have any official cases.  We strongly suspect  cases exist just not tested and confirmed.

My Primary Care Doctor is in Tampa (man save my life twice) I was supposed to see him a week ago but he called my wife and told her to not bring me to Tampa and that he wanted me to stay away from everyone.  To have a doctor call you from his cell phone is rare enough, to have one that is concerned enough to cancel appointments and tell me to "go to ground" is very rare.

Have family in Miami, they are shut in their homes and do not want to go out.

Have family in Orlando and they are still going to work.

Have family in Jacksonville, husband in the Navy in port, niece pregnant, really worried about her.

Family in Sarasota having a tough time of it.  Out of work, no money coming in, no idea when their jobs will reopen.  Hope the House of Representatives gets their heads out of the sand and get some help to normal folks.  May have to dip into my retirement funds to help family.

Waiting for reports from other parts of the state.

Do not ever panic, stay calm and focused.

Hi LittleJake

Marion/ Lake county here, Alachua county is shelter in place, orange county also. below is a current breakdown for lake county:

We doubled (state numbers) from 750 cases on 3/21 to 1467 cases on 3/24

One of Lake’s additional six cases was announced late Monday night, but five more were released at 11 a.m through the Florida Department of Health’s COVID-19 dashboard. Sumter reached ten, an increase of two since it was set at eight Monday at 6 p.m.

LEESBURG — Lake County’s reported coronavirus cases nearly doubled Tuesday from eight to 14 in a 24-hour period, the Florida Department of Health said in figures released Tuesday morning.

Sumter reached 10, an increase of two since it was set at eight Monday.

One of Lake’s additional six cases was announced late Monday night, but five more were released at 11 a.m through the Florida Department of Health’s COVID-19 dashboard.

The single case announced Monday was found in a 63-year-old woman who had neither traveled nor come in contact with a confirmed case, the department said Monday.

Around 1 p.m. on Tuesday the department released information about the other five, which included a 70-year-old woman who flew between Florida and New York, a 75 -year-old man and woman who each flew between Florida and Panama, a 68-year-old man who recently traveled to Ohio and a 21-year-old woman whose case was still under investigation.

Sumter’s two new infections were discovered in a 74-year-old man who traveled to Texas and who also had contact with a confirmed case, as well as a 73-year-old man whose case was listed as under investigation.

It is important to note that in the case where someone did not come in contact with someone or fly, that coronavirus can spread through contact with surfaces, not just person-to-person contact. A person does not have to travel or come into contact with an infected person in order to become infected.

The department also released tracking information about where people who have been confirmed to have the virus live.

In total Leesburg had five, Clermont had two, and Lady Lake, Sorrento, Groveland, Eustis, Mascotte and the Lake County portion of The Villages each had one confirmed. One case’s location information was not yet revealed, and details of which individuals lived where were not provided.

In Sumter, The Villages reported nine cases with an extra in nearby Wildwood, totaling 10 cases for The Villages.

As of Tuesday morning, there were a total of 1,412 cases discovered in Florida.

I know we have some counties in shut down, and the gov is leaving it up to individual counties.

I had a client, whose husband works for Florida light and power, she said hubbys guys were given state paperwork to be out after curfew.....interestingly tho, there are no curfews in the area, so just a heads up on presumed planning.

I haven't been on here in a few days - so playing catch up.  Things are surreal here.  My youngest daughter works in healthcare in the ED for one of Jacksonville's busiest hospitals.  She had a confirmed exposure at work and then last Friday started running a fever.  She was able to go to one of the drive-thru testing facilities in Jacksonville, but hasn't received her results yet. She's back to feeling well, so either she didn't have it or she's one of the ones with very mild cases (she is 23). I keep checking this site to see if her stats pop up:

https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/96dd742462124fa0b38ddedb9b25e429

I'm not 100% sure if her results would show in the county she lives or in Duval County where she was tested.

Meanwhile the hubster and I are pretty much just SIP and I'm working from home. My 82 yo mom lives next door to us.  She hasn't gone anywhere or had any exposure to anyone since we moved my niece out of her house last Wednesday (I'm super happy that happened - she dealt with the public and was too much of a risk to my mom). My mom walks across the yard to my house for dinner each night.  I've been picking up her mail and putting it in a basket to 'age' for a couple of days before she opens it.

The Adult Arcades (gambling rooms - complete and utter dives) in my county have been PACKED.  They closed the beaches. They closed the restaurants.  But the arcades have been open - it's ridiculous.  They will FINALLY close tomorrow.  This has been a public health risk for weeks...the news interviewed a woman going into one who said she was there because everything else was closed. SMH.

3,198 cases in FL now - yesterday had 497 positive cases (down from 548 the day before). Meanwhile my daughter's test is still pending from 3/21 so there's that...

3761 now....567 hospitalized ....54 deaths

Good luck with your girl LC, she is young, best odds if she has it.

Silly question tho....how come the hospital didn't test her ....an employee?

Like everyone checking in.  Here in Hernando County we have 10 cases.  Folks are still going to the stores as if nothing is wrong  (my daughter goes out wearing mask and gloves and cleans up well on return to the house).  Locked in the house has not been to bad, we have not killed each other yet.  (Thanks to the internet).

Just hang in there folks.  This will past in a month or two, then you need to be ready for September/October return.

Do not ever panic, stay calm and focused.
