This can't be good - traveler dies just a few hours after arriving at Toronto airport (so much for screening)

https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/cbsa-looking-into-circumstances-of-traveller-who-died-of-covid-19-hours-after-landing-in-toronto/ar-BB11BonN?ocid=spartanntp

And

We have a million plus 'freshly returned' (what was screening?!?!) to watch - oh and voluntary self isolation is I think still in place for most of Canada.  Some provinces (PM??) said 'mandatory' 14 days but I haven't heard anymore about it, nor of how they are tracing these million plus people and insuring they stay home!

https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/more-than-a-million-canadian-citizens-and-permanent-residents-returned-home-last-week/ar-BB11AdQ2?ocid=spartanntp

If it's to be - it's up to me!

Geezuz.  "But modelling studies have shown that more than 40 per cent of those infected may escape detection, Casey said. "

We've been seeing that from the beginning - so why are they still relying on something that isn't working?

Yeah, that's a rhetorical question. So many reports of US airports not even asking about travel on incoming international travelers.  Everything about this is FUBAR.

Well....and to add insult to injury (JMO) here is article re: lockdown and what is allowed as 'essential business' to stay open... other then a few niche retail outlets (electronics, games, clothing etc) I don't see much of anything different!  SO what you have to order takeout vs eat in...Liquor stores are an 'essential service' - unless they are selling 90% hootch that you can use to disinfect your home - I don't think so!!!!

Makes me just want to go back to bed and not climb out!

Italy waited too long.

Spain has failed so spectacularily they are finding the bodies now.

The American government seems to be putting money before people.

Our government is following the advice of one scientist, above the consortium of over 200 others.

Why should yours be any different?  THEY ARE ALL HOPELESS AND WE ARE ON OUR OWN.

Jacksdad's signature says it all.

South Korea seems to have done quite well.

How do you tell if a politician is lying?
His lips or pen are moving.

The company I work for transported a patient the other day.

Patient was feeling sick the day before.  Next day went to the hospital with some

mild respiratory distress, which became severe within hours.  Patient then coded and

had to be shocked.   Transported to a higher level of care at larger hospital where

the patient coded 2 more times and then died.   Pretty much fits the Covid 19 symptoms

to a T.   They weren't going to test post mortem to find out though.  WTH.

2 days time though.   this stuff can progress very quickly

How old was this patient?  Did they have other problems?   A lot goes into why they died.

approximately 50-60 yrs old.  Rural area.   Not sure of underlying health issues.  The transporting

crew stated they were suctioning mucus out of her like they had never expereinced.

I was on a transport of an elderly woman   98 yrs old.  Covid 19 pos.   Her oxygen requirement went from

low to high in a 15 - 20 minute period.   Not sure of her outcome but I can only guess.

We wear all the Personal Protective gear.   Mask, Gloves, Gown and face shield.   However

I work on a Medical helicopter.  It's like being in your family car.  Contained space.  When the

flight is done we pretty much take a shower in Cavacide (medical disinfecting spray ).  I'll

take my chances with cancer from the decon chemicals.  Here's the routine.

-Fly patient

-Decon helicopter

-Return to base

-Decon helicopter again

-Decon ourselves

-Wash all clothes

-Shower

-Change underwear again because you're that worried
