Since our first post (and the entire Dungeon) disappeared - here's a replacement.  Hopefully the original will turn up eventually, because I'd love to check in with those of you that were worried about loved ones, or had specific concerns.

***************************
Random thoughts: For some of us the waiting and wondering is over - our cities or states are now under Stay at Home orders. New Mexico's order was effective at 8am this morning. It felt really weird once it was announced - I felt like getting in my car and going somewhere. Anywhere! But after a few hours I just felt relief. That I wouldn't have to worry as much because more people would be staying home.

Vent-ish: At 8:45 am this morning my stepmom called and said they were on their way to Trader Joe's and Pharmaca, and did I need anything. :headbang: I've been asking them every single day if they needed anything. I had fresh fruit and veggies delivered to me (was thrilled to find that option), and dairy and eggs and meat were all available, and they said no.

At least my Dad was wearing gloves. I didn't bother asking if they were going to wear their masks. I asked what they needed - "Oh, just some ginger and some supplements". EXACTLY what I've been telling them I would order for them. So I'm moving along the path of accepting what I cannot change - their need for some semblance of normalcy overweighs everything else.  Pretty sure it's my stepmom driving it - as my Dad seemed willing to stay at home.

So today I start a new mental 14 day countdown for them. Nothing else I can do.

2nd vent: Over the weekend I posted on Facebook how I'm treating incoming packages. A friend responded that it was complete overkill, that if we were going to worry about that then we needed to worry about every can on a supermarket shelf that someone else might have touched, where would we draw the limit, blah blah blah, and we'd survive this just fine. (Uh, YEAH, we should we worrying about stuff on supermarket shelves! Reference asshole licking the shelves in the US a few days ago)

Not proud of it, but I lost it in response, because her tone was condescending, and would discourage other people from taking sensible precautions. So now we're not talking and she unfollowed me. Then posted on her page that some people have gone way overboard. Passive aggressive crap. Again, what the f*** ever. I'm out of f*cks to give. Fortunately other friends were supportive and are doing the same thing with shipments.

Still (obviously) feeling a bit snarky about it, so today I posted links on that same post with official 'how to handle a box' recommendations, and the new CDC study that showed that the virus lived for 17 freaking days on the cruise ship.

That's it for me. What's going on with YOU??? Do you have what you need? Emotional support? To know you're not alone? Here's a safe place. Sending heart emojis to all of you. :-)

I have learned not to tell friends what to do unless they ask.  Most people are not like us they do not understand that I am going to open my mail using gloves even though it has been sitting out for 3 or more days.  We are different than most people.

I didn't tell anyone what to do, I just posted what I'm doing. Fortunately the majority of my friends are paying attention.

And yeah, we are different than most people.
