So many versions of 'truth' out there.  I just read an article that said the virus has already mutated so much.  Early on the word from China was that it was mutating wildly.  So who do we believe?

Agreed. So much conflicting information. A month ago there were 49 identified strains.

If I understand the science, I'm good but not certain, coronaviruses mutate more frequently than, for example, flu.

So I have a large barrel of salt for that statement.
