Thank you, I agree that this is a good idea. We have to conserve the high-quality PPE for HCW and 1st Responders, but wearing a DIY mask in public is a good idea to reduce aerosols and droplet nuclei. However, such masks will do little to protect the wearer from new infection. |

Exactly! I've done hospital infection control in a major hospital that did heart/lung transplants, where the recipient had NO immune system at all. Our sterile technique had to be perfect. Some idiot freaking doctor wanted to install a big, glitzy waterfall/fountain in the hospital lobby....this thing would have been a big disease generator (Legionnaire's Disease, etc.) so I had to step in to quash it.
