We all knew this was coming, the 'nationalism' is spreading - and I honestly don't blame the leaders - it's human nature to 'keep what's yours' and in some cases, the first thing some of the leaders are doing to actually try to protect their own people. Just as Trump says 'no masks for Canada' now India says 'no wonder drug for rest of the world'... And if you are willing to look at a much bigger problem then the virus that is potentially looming - watch the Ice Age Farmer channel on youTube re: food shortages! |

We need another dedicated thread for food issues, and shortages Flumom, or someone else please. I just spent the last 1 1/2 hrs watching his "alarmist" video and researching this and I am blown away......this has been drowned out by the daily news, but is flooding the trade channels of suppliers, producers, and wholesalers. The wife was telling me about how commodity prices have crashed in USA, and just in passing i said ok, thinking whatever.......this is the next big story. Amazingly great catch Newbie1A

This guy has a lot of great ideas. I started watching him when the Midwest floods were so bad last year. I think he may have been the one that said our national wheat supplies were depleted to the critical point and farmers still had the crops in the field way past autumn and the US was not going to be able to resupply the deficit. |

Big deal, hydroxychloroquine is worthless for treating COVID-19. Junk science. There are MUCH more promising drug therapies in the pipeline: https://www.fiercebiotech.com/biotech/biopharma-s-leading-treatment-hopes-against-covid-19 The "antibody drugs" will be the most promising for long-term application, these are what were developed to stop Ebola in its tracks. Some of the new antiviral compounds would be the most quick to manufacture. Don't waste your money on hydroxychloroquine. |

I did read an article (and damned if I can find it now) that stated Hydrochloroquine was effective in a very narrow window in the course of the disease (somewhere between hospitalization and ventilator). But there was no conclusive evidence that those that did receive it had any effect. The problem with that narrow window seemed to be doctors missed it because they didn't know quite what that few hours window was. |

Thanks - I've been watching him for almost a couple years now... he wasn't as 'alarmist' in the beginning - more (calmly) warning it was coming and the science & news articles to back it up, the early reports of food shortages were further between and much harder to connect the dots then now. A lot of people think "it can't happen here - there's too much food"...not if you can't get it seeded/harvested (grains) not if you can't get it pruned/picked (all fruits/veggies)...transported to right areas... just not. I've noticed his last few videos he's talking faster (less composed), hair wild , and generally more stressed looking/acting - he knows we are running out of time. Literally the time is NOW to load up and prepare, buy seeds, plant potatoes (indoors if need be if you're in an apartment) etc... now.... Just scrolling down MSN this am there were 4 articles that pertained to this... 2 directly (how US & Can were losing early crops - 50% of asparagus, fruit trees not getting pruned/no staff to pick etc, and how Canada is requiring all workers to Q for 14 days with full pay on arrival - there's a good way to drive the food bill up!) and 2 weather related - storms/flooding in one area and droughts in Chili. If you look at the locusts plagues in Africa... we live in very interesting times! A thread for this topic would be great... |
