https://justthenews.com/politics-policy/polling/us-death-rate-lower-many-euro-countries-yet-38-voters-think-us-doing-worse

he U.S. death rate  for coronavirus is lower than many European countries, yet 38% of American voters think the United States is doing a "worse job" in handling COVID-19  according to a new Just the News Daily Poll with Scott Rasmussen.

Twenty-one percent of voters nationwide (21%) believe the U.S. has handled the coronavirus better than other nations while 38% say worse.

That is interesting....It could be down to lack of leadership clearly communicating with the people....but this hit some European countries much earlier than it hit the USA, so you will need to wait time for the USA to catch up.

Here, our Prime Minister's party has increased in popularity - especially among the groups most at risk - so I think clear communication can help.

Also the European country that I am in, which went into early lockdown, has had 4.6 deaths / lakh (Indian term for 100,000) whereas USA is at 21.5 / lakh (100,000).  Would a fairer comparison be with Canada which has a death rate less than half of that of the States?

Since the US had roughly a month to prepare I would hope the US is not in the same shape as European countries.  We had a chance to stop this epidemic but screwed up the initial response. Now we are getting ready to screw up again by opening without adequate testing and with way more cases then can be contract traced.  The healthcare professionals are being over ruled by politicians especially in red states.

My Prediction: Red state re-open and cases will rebound until hospitals are close to capacity and work places begin to close on their own. The economic hit to a over run population is worse then the social distancing hit, so red state will seek bail outs from the fed to pay for their fail experiment. The red state leaders along with Trump will claim no one knew this would happen.

Trump voters will claim the virus is a liberal ploy to destroy Trump.

Together we succeed

This is ouch-worthy.

Disclaimer:  The jump in unemployment would have happened who ever was in charge - it is bad luck for him that it happened on Trump's "watch".
