Why the massive, fatalities in the USA?

Why are Australias COvid figures so low compared to the USA,
We are around a 100 deaths, 
USA, 80,000
USAs population is 20x Australia's
Just asking, would like some reasonable explainatons....... 
As to why the big difference .
We had the same information as USA.... 
SO WHY?

	Possible answer...Neither Kangaroos nor sheep are a vector in the spread. Other guesses include a more spread out population, as this virus seems to love to spread in crowded cities. Also coming at the end of your summer more people would have been out doors and have a good supply of Vit-D. Australia's figures (per capita) are close to (and slightly better) that of New Zealand, so the actions of the two countries seemed to have given similar results in controlling the spread of the virus. However, I do not think that those two factors could explain the per capita difference, so there might be something about when the lock-downs began, as this video from the BBC reports

	Well I just see the UK is telling people only now that they have to self quarantine,for 2 weeks, ONLY NOW!!!!! we had that in place 4/6 weeks ago..... Put people up at hotels, and on an island, at no cost, and I don't mind my tax $$$ Protecting the community..... Those at home quarantine have phone calls and police visits to make sure they "DOING THE RIGHT THING"by their fellow AUSSIES. Our population is spread out, our cities are as busy as any big city , our rush hours may be shorter but people packed together on train and buses, we have a massive Asian population,flying in and out , We will see what happens next, Just wondering how we open up to the world....... Don't want to LMAO

	Lack of vectors is probably a factor, but I suspect more tests per capita, done earlier and more accurately is a bigger one; as is better contact tracing, better public information, more effective quarrantine and better heahthcare. All in all, Carbon's ascerbic attitude aside, Australia is a more civilized country. SORRY, it is always your friend whom tells you the unpleasant truth!

	You're right. And if NY had the testing capabilities when the WHO offered it instead of having to wait an entire month, that might have been effective with the current number of contract tracers here. Because of being crippled with testing and it already being in community spread by the time NY did get testing, it was too late. But you don't have to believe me and my eidetic memory. You can do internet searches yourself. Four or five weeks later, Governor Cuomo announced that former Mayor Bloomberg would be doing the logistics on hiring and training contact tracers and protocol. It was planned and hiring and training is being done now.

	Best thing about this, People won't laugh at me now when I crap on about a "SLATE WIPER" and maybe people will take Science more seriously, especially about Climate Change, Mind WUflu could be the planet saviour,getting rid of some of us !!!!
