I don't have the time or energy to track all figures, so I look most at Deaths (as that also affects population numbers - one of the data sets I have been tracking for years).

The current deadly hot-spots, using just the first two days of December (all data from https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/) and reporting the ratio (ie deaths per million population) are:-

Slovenia                       54

Bulgaria                        45

Hungary                       33

Croatia                         32

North Macedonia          30

Sweden                        29  (this may be high because Sweden tends to back date cases and I don't have the information to correct that)

Austria                         29

Bosnia & Herzegovina  28

Poland                          28

Switzerland                   26

Italy                              24

Czechia                        21

Armenia                        21

Luxembourg                  21

Lithuania                       21

Belgium                         21

Malta                             20

Greece                          20

- - -

It looks like Eastern Europe is being hammered at this time.  As that is a region that has many countries with declining population numbers this could lead to a lot of difficulties in the future for the remaining population.

The fact that Lithuania is in the table is sad as the whole Baltic region did well (ie much better than Finland) in the first wave, but now it is experiencing above world average increases in its rates.

EdwinSM-When I look at https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ or https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ I get these numbers-looking at deaths per million (dpm) list;

Slovenia  (#78) today at 744 dpm two days a go 717-+23 dpm-but todays new numbers will bring another increase.

https://ourworldindata.org/coronavirus or https://ourworldindata.org/coronavirus may give more info on trends-weekly increases etc.

I would like to have more statistics-on reinfection, age distribution urban/rural cases etc. On the other hand trying to get a bigger picture of this pandemic is already an almost impossible job. (Trying to keep "politics" limited-yes lockdowns bring economic damage so does a pandemic, masks seem to work, China did under report real cases in the early phase-all countries did...)

In my opinion statistics can give some impression on the effects of this pandemic. https://www.euromomo.eu/graphs-and-maps/ or https://www.euromomo.eu/graphs-and-maps/ also has much info.

I was hoping https://innovationorigins.com/corona-in-europe-how-the-swedish-fairy-tale-crashed-long-before-christmas/ or https://innovationorigins.com/corona-in-europe-how-the-swedish-fairy-tale-crashed-long-before-christmas/ would-by now-give new updates...

Before internet getting info was a hard job-with internet selecting on what info you want is a challenge...

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.
